Pros:

This hotel was perfect - great central location, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. This is also a great example of good hospitality. The first room we were given had an issue with the air conditioning. So Violeta and her staff went out of their way to provide us with another room. This made our stay extremely comfortable. We really appreciated it. I would recommend this stay to everyone!

Love the look, location and staff, but too loud to sleep comfortably.
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in a prime location.

They used interior door between the room and balcony. It is very noisy at night.

Tolle Lage, wunderschönes Haus und herzliche Gastgeberin.
Pros:

Super Lage direkt am Zocalo. Super schönes Haus und tolle Zimmer.

Violeta hat sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert und uns mit allen versorgt was wir benötigten.

Cons:

Das einzige, was Leute mit einem leichten Schlaf stören könnte ist die Lage direkt an einer auch in der Nacht befahrenen Straße. In dem Fall empfehle ich Ohrstöpsel.

Very nice room in the absolute perfect location.
Pros:

Literally in the perfect location, right across from the main square and cathedral. The room was clean and large and comfortable with super high ceilings so that it felt larger than it was. It had a little balcony and felt like an old world European apartment. No breakfast provided but they did leave nice candy snacks and water for us and sodas and juice.

Cons:

Breakfast or a coffee bar would have been nice. It was hard to get in the first time until we got the access card. People should know there's not really a reception desk or anyone "on duty" during off hours.

Pros:

Great location, steps away from zocalo. Very quiet w/lovely cactii landscaping. Super comfy bed & La'occitane toiletries!

Cons:

Small quibble, For smokers only:There was a large outdoor area, but smoking wasn't permitted. Perhaps the street side units w/small balconies do permit.

Perfect place in Oaxaca city.
Pros:

Beautiful building and room steps away from the main square. Short walk to the big markets, restaurants, shops etc. well stocked toiletries and free drinks and snacks. Water takes a while to heat up but gets very hot and plentiful.

Pros:

Location was beautiful and so convenient. It was easy to reach everything in the historic center on foot. Violeta was so easy to reach even outside of normal hours and answered all of our questions quickly. The rooms and shared spaces were beautiful and spotless. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. The family room was especially nice and hard to find. It was great to have a separate but connected room for the kids. We loved sitting on the balcony with its view of everything happening on the Zocalo.

We only had a couple of days to look around this time.
Pros:

Casa de la Asuncion is perfectly located in the middle of old Oaxaca. The hotel is in a charming old building and the rooms are very modern with fully up to date facilities. Violeta was extremely helpful making arrangements for everything we wanted to do.
