Pros:

Never having been there before, I went with an open mind; the staff were very professional and friendly, the room we stayed in was clean, and I liked the decor of the bespoke restaurant. The meals we had were full of flavour with nicely sized portions, and they went the extra mile to help us celebrate a milestone occasion.

Cons:

The carpet in the hallways and the room we stayed in looked worn out and water-damaged, and the tablet in our room wasn't working properly when we tried to book a collection of our amenities.

Cons:

We were in a disability bathroom so there was lack of storage and aesthetics, the phone to reception was disabled and we were in need of safety pins or a sewing kit which meant we needed to leave our room. We paid $500 for the night and no breakfast or parking was included. On top of that we went for breakfast and were so unhappy that $99 baymarie warmed soggy bacon, and chorizo with bread that was so hard to cut through, extremely vinegar hollandaise and poor service. We won’t stay again.

It’s very central. Walking distance to the botanical gardens and shops.

Cons:

Poor quality linen. Had sheets with holes in them. Had to follow up several times to get undamaged sheets to sleep on. The location of the room was next to a storage area, which made it noisy at all hours.

Pros:

I spoke personally to a Manager and praised the establishment, the room was exceptional and designed with the guest at mind.

Cons:

If I could choose something, for the hotels interior design, personally the dining chairs were a huge let down.
They resembled the look of a child's school chair in comparison to the rest of the furniture in the hotel.

Excellent hotel, would highly recommend
Pros:

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and furnished well. The views from the reception over the parkland to the cathedral are great, and from the bar / restaurant into the ground are excellent. The location for walking into the city is ideal. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
