Smoking in the courtyard, there is nowhere to go outside if you don't like smoking

Location, décor and the overall feel of the hotel were very good. And the staff were excellent, particularly in the restaurant.
Unfortunately our stay was over a mini heatwave and although a fan was provided in the room, it would have been nice if it had been switched on before our arrival to make the room more tolerable.
Comfortable rooms, great food. The garden rooms are ideal for dog-owners. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful.
The food was excellent but a bit pricey. One of our double rooms seemed to be set out for single occupancy, although the staff soon sorted this.

Ended up leaving and eating at the Indian restaurant across the road which I can highly recommend!
Nice location, room and staff. Beautiful welcome also for our dog with treats, bowl for the water and few small games in our room. Good breakfast and dinner.
The hotel is not equipped with air conditioning, but they provided us with a fan, but unfortunately it was not clean and full of dust. We had to clean it before we could turn it on.

We booked a standard classic room for two nights. We paid £130 per night.
Our room was so small compared to my brother and sister in laws room who paid the same. Their room and bathroom were huge.

It is rare to find boutique hotels with an accessible wet room rather than billing a room with a bath as accessible so that was appreciated. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and managed to resolve all issues when asked. The seats in the restaurant were comfortable after a long drive and being able to eat as soon as we arrived was appreciated. The room was quiet and the hotel has recently been refurbished.
I do not normally leave negative reviews but as we booked the room because it was ground floor and the room was "accessible". Unfortunately what this meant was that it was also the dog friendly room on the ground floor which was accessed via steps unless you know of the alternative route in advance.
My allergies are not severe but in a small space in hot weather with a high pollen count it was uncomfortable being in the dog friendly toom. A dog friendly room is great for people with assistance dogs but should be stated in the information as other disabled people may have allergies. The bedding looked clean but smelt of dogs and I had to take an antihistamine almost immediately. I still woke up covered in a rash everywhere the covers had touched. . The rooms were otherwise clean but if I had been able to reach a member of staff when I had a query this could have been flagged up and we would have asked for a different room. Although there were really not enough grab rails to move safely in the bathroom, I appreciated the non slip mat which so many hotels do not think to provide.
