Reception staff is kind at check in but the rooms are really small and for such a price we didn’t expect having our bed straight in front of the door, avoid room 720!!
On the second day, we left for visit from 7.00AM till 2.30PM. Room wasn’t cleaned up.
Airco is defect and bathroom door cannot simply close. By the way, toilets are in the bathroom.
We went with 4 adults and used ou welcome drinks vouchers. Please consider they only give a voucher per room and not per guest (we asked for 4 bottles of water and had to pay 2 of them) knowing the night was charged over 1000 Eur !!
Really disappointed!
The Athens Capital Center Hotel is well located and feels like a flagship MGallery property. We had two connecting rooms on the 2nd floor overlooking the front street, which initially was of concern due to the potential for noise, but the windows offered serious soundproofing and therefore the rooms were pin drop quiet. The doors to the hotel are also designed for soundproofing so little hallway noise is heard. Considering the location in the center of Athens, we had very restful nights here.
The rooms are well designed with nice finishes one would expect from a design focused contemporary international hotel.
Housekeeping was prompt and the rooms spotless.
Between the lobby bar/cafe, the rooftop pool and bar, and the main restaurant, there are enough dining venues to offer variety.
For those needing connecting rooms, room 205 connects internally with 206 (and I’d assume the same to be true on higher floors) and 203 and 204 can be configured to share a private hallway.
I highly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Athens Capital Hotel, part of the MGallery collection. The front desk staff was dismissive and unhelpful, and we waited over an hour just to get checked into our room. Once we finally entered, the bed was unbearably uncomfortable—small, low to the ground, and you could feel the springs. Overall, a terrible experience that left us feeling frustrated and undervalued as guests
It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a disappointing stay at such a highly rated hotel. Spent half my day just trying to check in after 20 hours of travel, wasting most of the one day I had to spend in Athens. Unresponsive staff. Mediocre accommodations and overpriced mediocre food. The room is basically what you’d expect from a middle American business hotel. The location is good but there are surely many other hotels around. Honestly if the service had been better I would not have said anything, but it collectively all felt insulting. Just absolutely not worth the money.
We stayed here in may 2026 and loved this hotel! The service is very nice, the breakfast is amazing, so quick to respond to emails when needed, the room is very nice and modern. The roof is gorgeous with acropolis views. Great vacation! Would love to come back!
Nothing says “luxury hospitality” quite like ignoring a guest for two months after taking their money and receiving all the documentation you requested.
I had a reservation at Athens Capital Hotel - MGallery Collection, but my holiday was completely disrupted when Qatar Airways cancelled my flights due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. As a result, I was unable to travel to Greece through absolutely no fault of my own.
Nearly two months ago, I contacted the hotel to requesting a cancellation given these extraordinary circumstances. They responded once, requested supporting documentation, I provided the official cancellation certificate from Qatar Airways exactly as requested.
Since then? Silence.
Despite multiple follow-up emails over the course of almost two months, the hotel has simply stopped communicating. No decision. No explanation. No courtesy update. No attempt to engage with a paying customer whose travel plans were cancelled because of a major international conflict.
At this point, the issue is no longer just about the money. It’s about the complete disregard shown towards a guest who acted promptly, supplied all requested evidence, and has made every reasonable effort to resolve the matter professionally.
For a hotel that promotes itself as a luxury property, the customer service has been anything but luxurious. I’ve never experienced a hotel so willing to take a guest’s money while completely ignoring them for nearly two months.
The most disappointing part of my experience with Athens Capital Hotel wasn’t losing my holiday—it was the hotel’s complete refusal to communicate afterward.
Our stay at Athens Capital Hotel – MGallery Collection was outstanding and the perfect way to experience Athens.
The rooftop bar and restaurant are truly next level—with breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Acropolis that make for an unforgettable setting, especially at sunset. It’s one of those places you find yourself going back to again and again during your stay.
The location couldn’t be better. You can easily walk to the Acropolis and Plaka, making it ideal for exploring the city without needing transportation.
The rooms were beautiful, clean, and very comfortable—exactly what you want after a full day of sightseeing.
And the staff was absolutely on top of their game—professional, attentive, and consistently excellent.
This hotel checks every box. Highly recommend.
Lovely hotel in the centre of Athens. We stayed 3 nights and location was great for access to all the main attractions. Food, service and rooms are excellent
Pleasant stay in the heart of Athens
With one of the best positions in the City, we have found this hotel to work perfectly for us. Multiple stays, all very good. A young, but eager staff are always welcoming and approachable, ready to help. Rooms vary, but are all clean, well equipped, and quiet. Great beds, fab shower. Stavros, manager in the dining room is a big asset to the property. He never stops moving and directing during the very busy and excellent breakfast. Maria, who must have been a supervisor understood busy food service, while keeping it refined and friendly. Lobby/street cafe...wonderful. We'll be back.
I stayed at this hotel twice, and both times I had a really great experience.
The rooms were amazing, with a lot of attention to detail. I especially liked the small lights under the bed and in the bathroom that turn on automatically when you get up at night. It is such a simple feature, but it made the room feel even more comfortable and very well thought out.
The breakfast was very tasty and had a great variety of options. On top of that, you can order different types of eggs, and all of them were really good.
The restaurant on the top floor was also great for lunch or dinner.
Overall, both stays were really enjoyable, and I would happily stay there again.
This is fairly new property right in the center of Athens near the Parlaimnet building. Nice, modern rooms. Some neat architectural features including a 10 story spiral staircase and an atrium. Rooftop pool, bar, and upscale restaurant. Great breakfast. We had a room classified as a “balcony” room, but those rooms actually have large 9th-floor terraces with great views. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is that the gorgeous shower space had a rain forest shower head. My wife found that impossible to use.
Food was cooked as ordered, service was superb, ambience was excellent!
The accommodations were luxurious. The breakfast and coffe shop were excellent. The location was great and had a great rooftop view.
The hotel’s location is undoubtedly its strongest asset. Situated just one minute from Syntagma Square, it places you right in the heart of Athens, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transport. The Acropolis is also within comfortable walking distance—about 20 minutes on foot—which makes it an ideal base for sightseeing.
However, one of the biggest disadvantages is the lack of on-site parking. Guests arriving by car should be prepared for extremely high parking fees nearby. The rates are steep—from 20 EUR to 28 EUR for the first hour and 3 EUR for each additional hour. Over the course of our four-day stay, parking alone cost us nearly 300 EUR, which significantly impacted the overall value of the stay.
Another somewhat disappointing aspect is the hotel’s approach to its advertised SPA services. While the hotel mentions having a SPA, the reality is less straightforward. Massage services are outsourced and can only be arranged in-room, yet the rooms are not spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a massage setup. Additionally, guests wishing to use a sauna must go to a different building altogether. This arrangement feels unusual and below expectations for a five-star hotel.
The breakfast experience was generally positive in terms of food quality and variety. There was a good assortment of options, and everything we tried was delicious. However, the service left room for improvement. It tended to be slow, and we often had to repeat our orders or remind the staff, which detracted from an otherwise pleasant start to the day. For a price of 35 EUR per person for a breakfast I expect really not to forget my order.
On a brighter note, the café located on the ground floor is a standout feature. It has a great atmosphere and is perfect for multiple occasions—whether you want to enjoy a morning coffee, get some work done, have a glass of wine, or even dine in the evening. It became one of our favorite spots during the stay.
Overall, our experience was good, largely thanks to the unbeatable location and the enjoyable café. That said, considering the price we paid, certain aspects—particularly parking, SPA services, and breakfast service—could and should be improved to meet the expectations of a five-star hotel.
Amazing experience!
The rooftop restaurant at Athens Capital Hotel had the best service, delicious food, and amazing views!
Our server, Eftichia, gave us great advice on what to order, with spot-on descriptions of each cocktail and dish. She provided the perfect amount of attention to make our experience wonderful and memorable. She and her colleagues told us they provide service from the heart and we could not agree more!
Can’t wait to come back!
Super nice rooms (amazing marble bathroom!). Wonderful staff at front desk. Easy check in even with a group! And the breakfast was fantastic. Tatiana at the front of the restaurant was very warm and helpful. Even helped get a late check out! Great experience!!
Great, newish hotel located in a prime location. Beautiful rooms, terrific service and excellent rooftop restaurant with a view of the Parthenon. Highly recommend!
Do yourself a favor and book a room at Athens Capital hotel on your next visit to Athens!!!We had a great time and certainly we will be back.
Athens Capital M Gallery rooftop dining. Our server, Eftichia brought a patio heater closer to us on the cool, windy rooftop and wrapped us in blankets. The food and drink were exquisite! Top notch! The best! We made great memories.
