Good stopover point -
Pros:

Different weather (wintertime) would have been lovely. Just too warm in non air conditioning equipped rooms. Provision of room fan was welcome but not much use. Loved the traditional inn style of premises though.

If you want to be in the town centre then this is pretty much the only option.
Pros:

Very good breakfast. Easy access to the town. Several pubs within a five minute walk, though if you want food you need to go to the Lock Keeper or Brassmill which are a bit further.

Cons:

Room was a bit small. Main problem was a chaise longue which took up a lot of space and served no useful purpose other than as a luggage rack. It also made getting to one side of the bed a bit of a squeeze. Carpets in the communal areas are looking rather shabby. Restaurant does not open until 6.30 pm.

Small rooms OK for a short stay
Pros:

Breakfast was very good,

Cons:

Very restrictive parking with a very small entrance maximum of 4 small to medium size cars, when parking it was wise to turn your car round to be able to exit the car park. I believe there was possibly a parking area for two cars around the corner near Tesco's. Our room No 2 was small with unnecessary large furniture. The bathroom was small with a very small shower.
