Great location. Close to trains and a good base in Tokyo. Clean rooms and helpful staff.
This was the first hotel I stayed at during my two-week trip to Japan, and I would happily stay here again.
The location is excellent, just a short walk from Shin-Okubo station on the Yamanote Line, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Tokyo. It's only three stops from Shibuya and two from Shinjuku, so you're very well connected.
I noticed that some reviews mention the street the hotel is located on as being unpleasant, but that wasn't my experience at all. I didn't notice any bad smells or feel uncomfortable during my stay. At the end of the street, there's a 24-hour laundrette and a 7Eleven, both of which were very convenient.
The rooms were a good size compared to several other hotels I stayed in Japan. Everything was very clean, and there was a great selection of amenities available from the reception area. Complimentary drinks were also available in the lobby, which was a nice touch.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. I can't comment on the public bath facilities as I didn't use them during my stay.
I have marked the hotel down by one star for two reasons: the breakfast selection and the lifts.
The breakfast was tasty and of good quality, but the menu remained largely the same each day, with only minor variations such as the style in which the eggs were prepared. The breakfast included eggs, bacon, bread and pastries, vegetables, fruit, yoghurt, and cereal, so there was a good variety available, but guests staying for several days may find the lack of change a little repetitive. The breakfast is not a buffet and is served to you.
The other issue was the lifts. Regardless of whether you tapped your room key, the lift would always stop on the second floor before continuing to your floor. Staff explained that this was for security reasons (reception is on the second floor), but it became frustrating after a while, especially when using the lift multiple times throughout the day.
Very cozy. Extellent for resting every once in a while, when you explore the city.
The location was excellent. The staff was helpful. The amenities added a layer of comfort. The onsen was nice and quiet. Everything always pretty clean. Breakfast was good helping us start the day with joy.
As a couple we stayed in a double room and disliked the fact that only one side of the bed was accessible to one of us. We also disliked the fact that we were unable to open the window at all, not even for a breeze . A more clever furniture design in the same space could allow more space to put things and enter the bed from both sides.
Accogliente, staff gentile , ottima posizione
