5 star location, 5 star facilities, 5 star breakfast
5 star price for 1 star service (with the exception of the parking valet). Some facts: we needed to use the scale in our room, but it was out of battery. We called for someone to help, she did come quite quick with a battery replacement but it was not the correct one or the scale itself was broken. She said she will come back with a new scale - we waited until the next day and no one ever came…. Not sure where she went but probably went to manufacture a new scale. The check in was also a pain and an exemplar of keeping your client in the dark, we wanted to check in early and was directed to set at a table, free drinks were provided but no details were given about how long we were supposed to wait. We wait there for half and hour and decided to ask - the front desk look mesmerized as if it was a strange question to ask and told us “it will be quick,” we asked “how long then?,” they said “one more hour…”. I don’t know if the front desk assumed we had nothing to do but we reiterated that we have afternoon plans and don’t want to sit here doing nothing. We would have appreciated if they can be straightforward and told us the expectation so we can go on with our day. We have never experienced service like this before, else we go they are always transparent with the time The house keeping also didn’t clean the room until we called and asked them to… the staff should be better trained and take ownership of their responsibilities, more importantly they should understand what being in the service industry entails. The only crew that was actually doing the level of work I expected of a hotel this level was the valet crew - kuddos to them for their service and protectiveness.

Best experience I had in Greece
This is more akin to a good 4 star hotel (globally) but priced at 5 star. The hotel and grounds were great but I’d expect that bit extra for a 5 star and at that price (roughly £400 a night)

The rooms and ground were very tasteful and everything was beautiful. The sun beds were comfortable and the room was great. They upgraded us to a junior suite and there was so much room and all the small touches in the room were really nice. Beach is big and there are lots of local places to eat only a few minutes walk from the hotel if you don’t want to go into chania or eat there. Overall the stay was very relaxing, no rowdy people, and the staff were very helpful. The cats in the hotel are so friendly and well looked after.
The drinks are very overs priced even though it’s a hotel. Not really a complaint because you can move beds quite easily and pull them into the sun but the umbrellas don’t go down so you’re moving to get in the sun throughout the day.

Food is beautifully presented but expensive and only just fine… pool bar was an exception… we also liked the Asian restaurant best… view and service everywhere was great!
The beach access it had was one of the best sandy beaches I had experienced while in the mediterranean. The food and drinks were pretty fairly priced for a luxury resort. Sometimes these places can really overcharge. They also free upgraded my room to a suite, which was really awesome!
