The hotel is in a good location, for touring the Devon South coast.
The price was fair for the accomodation provided.
The hotel is need of renovations, and although the room was clean and tidy, certain aspects of the decoration needs attention.
The hotel reception, bar, and restaurant is at present closed. Not very inviting.
We were met by the owner. A very pleasant lady,
If you want to just have a base to get around, it's ideal.
Great value for money. Interior and room were all really good Friendly staff
Exterior was a little shabby but interior which is more important all good
24 hour access
N/A
Basic clean accomodation
Decor is a bit tired but ok
No food available so cannot comment
Too many steps to access the room with luggage, no lift or alternative access available.
Great location. Private Hosts who definitely go the extra mile tomake you welcome. Feels like the place is undergoing improvements and i'm all for supporting people like this who make the effort to make your stay as confortable as possible. Decent sized Car Park also which is a bigplus for me as a Van Driver.
Restaurant & Bar wasnt open but it was no major issue as the owner pointed me in the direction of another place a minutes walk away. There is also a Shell Garage next to the Hotel. People have pointed out that there is traffic noise as its next to the A30 which is true but there is things on the windows to dull this. Can't say the noise really bothered me.
Location was good
Rooms are very noisy, bathroom is dated and and v small shower area u can hardly move
Location suited our visit to friends. Very welcoming and accommodating manager. Facilitated early check in. Quiet.
It was under renovation which we didn’t know about so there was no kitchen or bar service.
Well situated just off Devon expressway and plenty of parking space.
Bed was very comfortable and room was clean
No food available but not a problem for us and the price for the room was very good
Nothing
Comfy modern and clean. Easy to get to. Was pleasantly surprised when I saw it. Huge bed and loads of room and storage space. Has tv. You get left alone apart from a “hello is everything ok?” With some info On day you arrive. Check in is a person less affair with room cards left out to collect. All worked well.
Room was upstairs and really warm! They provide a large cylindrical floor standing air conditioning unit which works but it’s so loud it’s no good at night so you cook. Window jammed shut too. Not ideal.
Kettle was horrible inside and I spent 15 mins cleaning brown stuff out and rinsing and rinsing. Didn’t get poorly though. Sink plug knackered but no big deal.
Bed was comfortable and that is it.
The hotel was run down physically from the outside. Looks nothing like the photos.
I had a loft hatch in the hotel room which had no lock whatsoever. I opened it and anyone could get in and walk around there. There was sanitary wrappings just inside the doorway and dirty boxer shorts thrown inside. I'm unsure if other people had a hatch door in their room but if they did they could easily entered the loft and opened the hatch door in my room!
The toilet dripped constantly and was worse when a neighbouring room flushed their toilet.
The receptionist/cleaner/everything lady was quite rude. I rang the day before to say I was arriving around 2pm instead of the check in time of 3pm, asked if this was a problem and she said "no problem". When I arrived at 2:20pm, I was told "no check in 3pm but as you have child I let you in".
The hallways were pitch black but on a sensor light. It was like something out of a horror movie.
No receptionist in sight to greet us. I had to call the number pinned to reception desk to come to greet us.
A man and his wife who came to use the EV charger and he said to me "I'm actually concerned you're staying here alone with a child". If I hadn't travelled from Kent, trust me I wouldn't have stayed!
I woke on the hour, every blooming hour which is odd in itself.
There was an air con machine in the room which was okay but leaked water everywhere. It was needed as the bathroom radiator was left on high and it wasn't turning off. 25c outside so definitely not needed! Too noisy to turn on during the night too in case I couldn't hear someone coming through the hatched door in the bedroom.
I'm glad my son and I survived the night, we checked out as quick as I could get us both up and ready!
Oh and the bedroom doors and so loud and heavy when they bang shut. You can't quietly close them, they slam shut waking the dead.
From pulling up ample parking them greeted with a happy smile collected my door card and went up to room. On entering the room seemed to go on and on large bathroom with walkin shower very good.( only stayed 1 night but towel radiator seemed full on even when I checked on dial which was turned to cold this was a slight problem but on waking in night hot I opened the window)
Nice big bed tv with many channels was signed into netflicks and various other channels so entertainment sorted. Drinks making facilities were good and the icing on the cake was the air conditioning unit that was top notch 👌
Wasn't expecting any bar or restaurant as I had eaten previously on route to hotel so not a problem for me. Would definitely use when I'm in the area again. Thanks Richard
We liked the hotel it was one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in we will come back and stay in the near future the staff were excellent
The hotel doesn't look very nice from the outside but inside excellent the down side no bar or restaurant
