rooms have a modern decor and are decent in size. the beds were not overly luxurious, but comfortable enough. the bathrooms were modern, clean, with separate room for toilet and shower - very useful when travelling in a group.
the AC in the room didn't work, and it wasn't repaired during our stay. we were offered a room on a different floor, but we were travelling in a group, and logistically we couldn't be on a different floor than the rest of the group. We also asked for a high floor and were told that the top floors were not for guests, which I found it to be a strange comment, and untrue.
Staff was helpful and the parking options nearby were close, fair priced, and safe. We will absolutely stay here again to save from NYC prices and crowds. A short walk to the train station, clean room and hotel. We enjoyed the bar at night and had good service there as well. Service to room was prompt and helpful. Highly recommend!
While the location of this hotel is great and it's a relatively new hotel, there is always a headache when you stay here:
Most recently - on a day when the outside temperature was in the high 90s- my room had no air conditioning. The outage had been ongoing for days and their response to bring me a fan. They should have moved me to the other Hilton hotel in Jersey City, something I had to do on my own.
Oddly, there have been issues with heat in the winter.
At check in, there is routinely a long wait because they have only one or two people processing guests.
Convenient location, close to public transport, and food options. Mostly clean and facilities were great. Staff were pleasant and friendly, except that 1 receptionist lady working on 11 July morning.
Soundproofing was bad. Can hear the housekeeper every morning knocking on the guests’ rooms and the cleaning ongoing next door. Was granted a late check out till 1pm by the reception but no coordination on their end to ensure guest’s comfort. Two people (seemed like the housekeeping) came by to knock on my door within minutes of each other to ask the same thing.
Great location within Jersey City with nearby parking ($28 per day). Close to many restaurants, and next door to PATH train station into NYC. Facility is beautifully decorated.
It is pricey depending on time of travel.
