We had a wonderful stay and the view is unbelievable.
For the price you are paying the standard of service was not there. Girl on desk gave no welcome but Nick was fantastic.
The location and facilities are fantastic. Some of the staff interactions was excellent and as expected for a high quality hotel. Unfortunately not all.
I was disappointed with the level of service during my stay, particularly given the price of the hotel and the standard of service I would expect at this level.
The younger lady on reception who dealt with me at check-in on Sunday came across as noticeably unfriendly and had an attitude that I found quite off-putting. Unfortunately, the same experience with her was repeated when I checked out on Monday. There was very little warmth or engagement, and the overall manner felt dismissive rather than welcoming.
I appreciate that everyone can have a bad day, but when staying at an expensive hotel, the reception experience is an important part of the overall impression. I would expect staff, particularly those representing the hotel at the front desk, to be professional, welcoming and attentive.
The hotel itself has plenty to offer, but the attitude and manner I experienced at reception fell well short of the level of service I would expect for the price. It was disappointing and took away from what could otherwise have been a very good stay.
Stunning location opposite a beautiful beach.Spotlessly clean. Beautiful rooms with very comfortable beds and even the partial sea view was stunning. Staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Food was delicious.
We were a bit disappointed with the cocktails but this could have just been us being fussy.
The location was fantastic and the staff were are lovely and very helpful.
We were disappointed with the food in the restaurant- it didn’t spoil our stay but my husband had the steak and chips on the first night and the steak was chewy and overcooked and the chips were soggy and on our last night he had fish and chips and fish was dry and again the chips soggy and not cooked properly .

The breakfast that’s included in the price was poor and the hot breakfast (which was good) should be included.
Needs a more cosy lounge area for chilling in the evening.
The hotel, staff and location was excellent but the food really let the place down and charging an extra £10 for a hot dried up bacon and eggs was a real let down considering the cost of the stay

Everything! The facilities were fantastic and ensured we had a really relaxing stay. The view from our room was stunning, level warm decor and everything we needed. Above all though it was the staff who were just the best! We were made to feel so at home and comfortable for our stay, nothing was too much trouble and we really appreciated this.
Great food ,staff very helpful, fantastic view of the inlet.
Very narrow roads around Salcombe.
