Lovely hotel but not good value for money
Pros:

The hotel was clean and modern with a fantastic location and good facilities

Cons:

It wasn’t made clear at the time of booking that the included breakfast was continental and you had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. We felt this a little unfair for the premium price we paid for the room.

Beautiful. Highly recommend
Pros:

Wonderful location and room. Staff were super friendly and food was fabulous if a little expensive. The bed was huge and comfortable, and the room was a good size.

Cons:

The bathroom fan was noisy and would have been better if it only came on when the shower was running instead of every time the light was switched on. Whilst it was really lovely to have a small balcony my toddler couldn't see the glass and banged her head a couple of time...maybe a well placed sticker would help :)

A much needed restful holiday where we could leave our car behind thanks to the hotel bus.
Pros:

We were given an up grade to full breakfast on arrival which we thought should have been included in the price considering what we paid. The position of the hotel right next to the beach. The hotel bus that went hourly into Salcombe much needed. The young staff were efficient, friendly and caring. The spa was good especially on rainy days. The bed was very comfortable. Little touches like the gin on arrival and bottle water throughout our stay. The bedroom a tiny bit small but the balcony made up for that.

Cons:

Being asked on arrival for £50 per night as a deposit against breakages I have never come across this before. My husband`s foot being stabbed by a thick plastic jutting out from the bed.

Very dissapointing, not worth the money
Cons:

Supposed to be no dogs. Sitting on Terrace and was asked to move to a smaller table so non residents with dogs could have best table.
Having to pay extra for cooked breakfast was unbelievable.

Really enjoyed the beach . Weather was great
Pros:

Location is excellent

Cons:

Bit of a winding road uphill to get there
For the price we paid be nice to include a hot breakfast
No eggs , no tomatoes very basic.

Beautiful location, but the service doesn’t quite match the price.
Pros:

A fabulous location at South Sands, just outside Salcombe, with lovely views across the beach and cove. There is a lot to like about the hotel, but overall we came away slightly disappointed. At this price point we expected a more polished, warm and attentive level of service. The staff were not unfriendly, but neither did the hotel consistently deliver the cheerful, genuinely helpful experience you would expect from a premium property. It is difficult to put your finger on, but at times it simply didn’t feel as welcoming or well managed as it should. Perhaps the end of a long season is showing, but the leadership team needs to sharpen things up before I would consider booking again.

Cons:

One particular frustration was the tendency to prioritise laying tables for the next meal over allowing hotel guests to use the space. We were told we couldn’t sit at certain tables because they had already been laid for breakfast, lunch or dinner. One evening, after returning from dinner elsewhere at around 10.30pm, we wanted to sit together, have a coffee and play cards. A table was eventually made available, but the restaurant manager then told us, “You can’t be here all night.” For guests staying in an expensive hotel, that felt unnecessarily unwelcoming and rather summed up our experience.

There were some good points but it was let down by some fairly basic factors.
Pros:

Comfortable bedrooms. Lovely pool.

Cons:

Not a comfortable bar/lounge area. The dining area felt a bit utilitarian. The staff on arrival were not very friendly, in fact the guy overseeing the car park when we arrived was extremely rude.

Pros:

The staff was just unbelievably helpful and caring. My son has a wheelchair as soon as we arrived we were helped by the receptionist. They gave us a bigger room and all sorts of compliments.
The hotel is amazing too, on an amazing location.
Only thing, please Devon people, make the roads a bit wider!

Location molto suggestiva, non molto comoda da raggiungere per un guidatore non molto esperto.
Pros:

Albergo raffinato, servizi ineccepibili, ottima prima colazione.

Cons:

Non particolarmente visibile l'indicazione che identifica l'hotel. Data la strada piuttosto impegnativa per arrivare, la visualizzerei un po' meglio.
