Pros:

I enjoyed the character of the hotel, especially the art on the walls. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. It was great to also have a car park. The room was made up nicely and very comfy.

Cons:

I felt the lighting in my room was poor. It would have been nice to have a brighter option. It was also hard to reach the light switches as the large lamps were in the way. I hard to keep moving the lamp to get to the switches.

A good stay overall, but the room location made it far too noisy.
Pros:

Easy access. Unique interior design.

Cons:

The room was directly across from the restaurant on the ground floor, so we could hear noise from the restaurant and its guests, as well as people coming out into the corridor to talk to each other or make phone calls. So I wouldn't stay there again unless I could be sure I wouldn't be given the same room.

Unique, classy building in a favourable location
Pros:

Very unique building to stay in and full of interesting quirky features. It was also clean and well kept.
We were pleasantly greeted by the man at reception and he gave useful directions about where to park.
It was a really quick drive away from Ponsonby where you will find loads of eateries and a range of unique shops.

Cons:

I wasn't very impressed with the shower - the shower rose is about 7 ft up so you feel a gentle trickle of water rather than proper pressure.
The bed was a bit hard for my liking.
