Nothing
We highly recommend this Hotel and we will definitely stay here again.
We loved the old, convent building, which has been renovated to perfection.Amazing paintings, ornaments, statues and wall art and display cases with antique curiosities could be seen throughout the building.
There was a lovely, helpful man on reception.
Ava Restaurant is in the building.
A pizza shop 2 mins walk away by the bus stop.
There is good secure parking right behind the building, which we were able to reserve when we booked.
A quiet location 11 mins from the CBD.Our Uber was $11 into the Civic Center.
The room spacious. We chose one upstairs with a balcony view looking West .
It had a very comfortable, warm King sized bed.No aircon but it had a wall heater and to room was very warm.
A very large tiled shower, toilet and handbasin had beautiful copper fittings. The water pressure was very good.
Comfort 10/10
Cleanliness 10/10
We liked everything.
A beautiful location with the best rooms our favourite of NZ
It was very different from anywhere we have stayed before. Loved the style and the decor. Lots of fantastic artwork and history in the building. We stayed in the mother superior room which was very spacious. There were a couple of things they could do lift it from shabby to chic. There was a chair with rips in the arms, chipped crockery and the lose cables under the TV. There was only one key which was inconvenient for four people. The staff were really warm and friendly. The location was spot on and only a few minutes away from the CBD. Would recommend and stay again.
We always stay here when in Auckland and it’s always so good!
Couple things that needs to be fixed is shower head, the pressure is ridiculous, basically there is none - every time or every room that we stay in. The other thing that needs to be thought of is heating, especially in winter months, the wall heater doesn’t do anything! We were freezing both nights and my partner got a cold after our stay. For the price that we paid for two nights - it’s a bit disappointing.
I appreciated how quickly the staff responded to my inquiries. Also the decor was lovely, it artfully blends contemporary design with the rich architectural history of the building. Plus the location was good!
Small rooms
Breakfast? I didn't know about the breakfast! I enjoyed the little bar and the friendliness of the wait staff when we moved into the restaurant. But the highlight was the use of this heritage building. On point. Also, I appreciated the fact my partner was able to leave his bicycle in the front office over night. Its vintage look rather blended in very well I thought ;)
I was completely happy but for the noise of the bathroom fan that kept going all night. I understand a fan is essential for a bathroom with no other ventilation but it would've been good to be able to turn off while trying to sleep. It wasn't that bad however, that I needed to dig out my earplugs.
The location was great .
Small room, no seating except on the bed. We stayed two nights and the cleaning of our room & change towels didn’t happen , had to go & ask for new towels, they were dumped on the bed & didn’t take the dirty ones away!!
Reserved a car park & that evening when we returned from the wedding “ no parks available “ had to park out on the busy road late at night” and no water in our rooms ( that should be a must) when we passed back our keys to leave “ the gentleman made no comments “ basically ignored us!!!
They accepted my booking
No reception - limited parking - pictures didn’t match room - internet suggested different reception times a
- waiter had to let me into my room
Location Staff were very helpful
Was not very clean and no breakfast option
Great stay

Character of hotel. Art, textiles, wooden floors
Warm night & no air con so opening window only allowed noise from restaurant & neighbours balcony come into room
We have wanted to stay at The Convent Boutique Hotel for some time and an opportunity presented itself. It was perfect for what we needed for one night, although we would love to have stayed longer. The location was excellent with ease of access to the airport and the city and we appreciated the on-site parking. Our suite was comfortable and the beds absolutely divine. Great water pressure and temperature in the shower and all the basics covered to make it an easy stay in a unique setting. All our interactions with staff were easy, positive and helpful. We'd definitely stay again and next time, will hopefully be able to take advantage of on-site restaurant, Ada.
In the cooler months, the room was a bit chilly. There is a panel wall heater, which is effective but patience is required. Not a bad virtue to practice, especially in an ex-convent!
Fun mix of historical and modern.
No complaints!
