Great location very friendly staff good food
Josh our waiter for evening meal and breakfast was the best
The staff were very helpful. The lady who booked me in on Sunday evening was very kind, as I arrived with a severe migraine and fetched me a large glass of iced water to take to my room. The lady who was serving at breakfast was very helpful and friendly.
A faulty fire alarm that started bleeping at 3.00am. Luckily one of the other guests was able to dismantle it so we could all go back to sleep as there were no staff to be found. My room had several items that didn’t work. The roller blind didn’t work and had to be unrolled and rolled up by hand. The bedside light didn’t work and the bedside socket didn’t seem to have any electricity. The coat hooks on the back of the room entrance door were broken. The en-suite was very basic, no shelves to put toiletries bag or anything to place a toothbrush in, no shelf in the shower and there was mould around the base of the shower. The room was very hot with no fan facilities which should have been a consideration given the exceptional hot weather we are having presently in the U.K., especially in the South East. Guests had to wait for over half an hour outside the locked door to attend breakfast, which we had booked for 8.00am but weren’t allowed in until 8.30am. Guests were told that there was a mix up and staff didn’t turn up for the morning shift.
Some of the staff were super helpful (especially those working the bar).

Breakfast was not available at the previously agreed time twice. Once we had to miss it because we had plans.
WiFi in the room was so weak that it was basically non-existent.
Food choice was getting worse each day - missing ingredients. One day we had to wait for the updated menu to be printed out.
Location idyllic. Breakfast adequate - seems to be the bare minimum for the price.

Items on breakfast plate carefully counted out, no given option to choose 2 eggs. Only 2 loose cereal, and 1 boxed, but no fresh fruit though help yourself to juice, coffee, toast.
Tables sticky and dining room decor was stale.
It was close to where I wanted to be.
The food was average, beans were sent out cold at breakfast.
After reading some negative reviews we were concerned about our booking, but nothing to worry about, hotel was clean, rooms were large and staff were lovely and went over and beyond to make our stay memorable. We would definitely stay again.

Room not serviced at all during 4 day stay even when requested.
No blind in shower room, only lightly frosted glass
in window directly over bars outside sitting area, ok for exhibitionists.
Room very hot no fan.
Shortages at breakfast e.g no orange juice for 3 days only apple juice 1 day. No fruit, not much choice of cereal.
Steep narrow stairs leading to rooms really difficult especially with luggage.

Pretty basic room, said water view or terrace view but we just had a big felt roof with a glimpse of the water.

No food available despite being stated it was on booking.com which was very disappointing, so don't go on Sunday evening or Monday if you want a meal! Staff had no suggestions of where else to go.
Bar / restaurant area was very dark and decor/ furniture did not fit the old building.
