Very nice pet friendly hotel with free parking to the rear of the property .. Staff were very welcoming and the room was bigger than expected with a well stocked mini bar
Really nice place to stay if your exploring near by , only 20mins to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens which is well worth a visit.
Breakfast and evening meals were very good with a nice bar area and garden to relax
Not much to see in the Town of Dorchester and like a lot of small Towns the high street seems to be struggling ( in my opinion ) but the hotel was really nice , Service was a little slow but to be fair there looked to be only 2 people rushing around doing the bar and reception so maybe they were short staffed on that day .
I should have written this 3 weeks ago when my husband and I decided to have an inpromptu Sunday roast and ended up in Dorchester. The place we found was the Kings Arms.
We were so impressed, I can't tell you. Lovely staff. Superb food. Really good quality locally sourced produce. They even have their own curing cabinet for specialist meats and were kind enough to give us a sample - outstanding.
We'll be going back and i look forward to taking my mum and friends their. It's really great. Wouldn't know where you could go to beat their roast...superb!
Room was lovely AC was amazing, great staff, bar & breakfast was great, location was good, car parking adequate
Beautifully presented central hotel. Staff helpful and welcoming. Great place to explore Dorchester and surrounds. Would recommend Abbotsbury subtropical gardens and village. Beautiful coastline and countryside.
Very welcoming staff, excellent food and a comfortable room wth air conditioning. The breakfast was outstandingly good!
A real comfy ,classy place to stay and staff really look after you
Nothing
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We brought along our dog and bowls, towel and a goody box had been provided in the room for him.
We ate at the hotel one evening. The food was excellent, one of the best meals I’ve had this year.
The breakfast was also extremely good.
There is a really pleasant outside terrace where we could have a drink.
The room was large and comfortable.
Would definitely return.
Great staff - very friendly and helpful. Rooms are good with air con and fans. Great location and enjoyable breakfast
The cleanliness, the cleaners do an amazing job, I caught them touching up my room at one point when I popped back during the day and this was a lovely touch.
Can't thank them enough!
Going home! 😂
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and reasonably priced and the hotel was a great central location in Dorchester. Our stay was during the heatwave and we stayed in a Cosy Double room which did not have air-conditioning, however a fan was provided by the hotel but our room was incredibly hot and sleeping at night was difficult. However, we enjoyed our time at the hotel and would highly recommend staying there.
Lovely room - everything you could need and great central location in Dorchester. Only issue was caused by the heat wave. No air conditioning but hotel had gone out of its way to buy lots of extra fans. Still hard to get a good night’s sleep.
Fantastic staff, friendly and helpful. The 'Snug' room we booked was bigger than expected, very comfortable, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The food, served in a lovely spacious dining room, was a work of art and delicious. Love the hotel decor. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We will be back.
It was really, really hot and I had a lovely air-conditioned room at The King's Arms in Dorchester, so top marks just for that. It was a lovely space with a little desk and a shower that was incredibly refreshing.
The only downside was the view out of the window, but there isn't much that can be done about that.
The egg and mushrooms on toast that I had for breakfast were rather good as well.
