Conveniently in the middle of old San Juan, easy walks to things like El Morro, restaurants and Columbus Square. Felt very safe on the street at night. The street in front of the hotel was closed to cars while we were there, that may be permanent. Our room on the ground floor front side was spacious and very comfortable, with very good "black-out curtains" against the morning Sun or occasional light "displays" from the bar on the corner.
The hotel restaurant is good, there are even better around the neighborhood but it is handy for breakfast or a lunch if you are "on site" during the day. The rooftop pool is nice, with a bar where "bar food" is also available. Plenty of open air public spaces for getting together with your group
Would definitely stay here again.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay! The hotel is beautiful, rooms are spacious and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A special shoutout to Edgard, who was tending the rooftop bar, and the three maintenance guys he insisted on calling to retrieve my necklace that had fallen between the decking boards by the pool! Catastrophe averted due to super employees!
Had a horrible night, the people above our room had a drunken member and at midnight they had a brawl and the noise was horribly bad. I give a 5 in the sense that Francisco and Peña (front desk) really gave their all to control the situation and treated me and my family with kindness. The problem was not the hotel per se, it was unruly people who have no regards for others. Francisco was specially thoughtful that night along with Peña. The next morning I crossed path with Peña while walking to get coffee and he had the kindness to invite me to go to El Convento and get coffee from their coffee area. I spoke to Carlos, the manager, not to complain about not sleeping but to give kudos to the employees reaction in the midst of a situacion that was really bad. Rachel was also very helpful taking care of me and my family the next day at the front desk. I wished we had rested well, but for sure, it would have been totally horrible had it not been for the amazing employees. I would love to spend time at the hotel again and have a peaceful night. The location is amazing, walking distance within Old San Juan to everything there is to do and see.
Breakfast in a $500 room was not included. Location in Old Town was good
Had dinner in restaurant ..very average
My husband and I loved Palacio Provincial! The pros: Beautiful lobby and common areas, staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are super clean and modern (the shower was excellent, the bed super comfy, and the pillows - I know I sound weird - but their bed pillows are extraordinarily comfy to the head) and great location in Old San Juan. The cons: I don't know about all the rooms, but our room did not have a view, maybe other rooms do. When we were a guest, there was a generator that hummed loudly for a while but I don't believe that was permanent. Tip: Get familiar with the street names. Ubers don't drive down the street you are on, you need to meet at one of the corners.
Stayed 2 nights here that I will never forget!
Adriana welcomed me like family the moment I arrived and ensured that everything was perfect for me throughout my stay. Raul at the front desk also consistently went above-and-beyond, the 2 of them made me feel truly welcomed and appreciated. Exceptional service!
The entire property is also so breathtaking. The well-preserved architecture really takes you back in time and I enjoyed learning about the buildings rich history. The atriums along with their open roof provide perfect spaces to relax and enjoy gorgeous sights at every turn. I thoroughly appreciated the attention to detail and lovely Puerto Rican charm.
Not enough good could be said about this hotel. Especially due to its central location, it is the only hotel I would recommend for an authentic Old San Juan experience!
