Great location, lovely front staff in the evening, stiff door lock on room.
Pros:

This was spacious, spotless, comfortable, good value, ideally located a few paces from the train station and had everything needed for a one-night stay. It also had a locker room with safes of various sizes (some quite big), where I was able to leave my luggage for a few hours the following day after checkout. I liked the fact that optional cleaning, which I presume is free of charge, needed to be requested by 10pm (this avoids a huge amount of wasteful and un-environmental daily cleaning, especially if someone is only staying two nights and doesn't need a daily clean). The young man at reception the night that I arrived was charming and helpful, and gave me some tips about distances on my map. It was reassuring to have 24 hour reception, as I was arriving late in the evening and my train ended up being delayed, so I was even later than anticipated!

Cons:

The knob ("thumb lock") on the door that served to fully lock the room from the inside was stiff to turn. It was hard to know if it was actually locked when sleeping, as the door kept opening as soon as I tried the handle. I'm glad there was an actual knob and not only a key card system. (In recent incidents in the UK in other hotels, guests have been given the wrong cards and have barged in to other people's rooms by mistake, or even deliberately!) I would have liked to have had more faith in the lock and would have been more relaxed going to bed if I had felt I could trust it. As a lone female it's important to have confidence in the locks. This is a huge hotel but I do recommend that the staff do a check of all the locks. My room was somewhere around room 720.
