Springhill Suites provided outstanding value and a comfortable stay in a world-class city.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent and a cut above what you would normally get from a hotel continental breakfast. Staff went above and beyond during our stay to acknowledge my daughter's birthday.

Great location very close to the red line made travel into/out of the Loop area a breeze.

In/out parking privileges made use of the garage straightforward.

Cons:

The dining room is undersized for the number of people eating breakfast at peak traffic (nitpick: the toaster slows down the whole process of getting people through the line; please invest in a second/larger/faster one).

Rooms facing the railway tracks experience some train noise throughout the day/night.

Over-strong air freshener/deodorizer in the lobby area is unpleasant when you first walk in.
