A Terrible Experience – I Strongly Recommend Staying Elsewhere
Our experience at this hotel was absolutely terrible, particularly when it came to the air conditioning, heat, humidity, and the way the management handled the situation.
Despite the extremely hot and humid conditions, the air conditioning in the hotel was either turned off or limited to 25°C. We were explicitly told that this was a management decision to turn off or restrict the air conditioning. The rooms were unbearably hot, our children became dehydrated, and we were simply unable to sleep properly.
To make matters worse, there was a storm outside. The pools were closed, while all the other activities continued to operate according to their regular schedules, meaning there was virtually nothing available for families with children to do. At one point, the lobby was full of guests and children simply standing around with nothing to do.
The food in the main restaurant was also extremely disappointing and, frankly, below an acceptable standard for a hotel of this level.
What was perhaps most frustrating was the management and customer service. The management was completely unhelpful, and our attempts to get assistance were met with terrible customer service. On one occasion, a staff member actually hung up the phone on us. The frontline employees genuinely tried to help and went above and beyond, but it was clear that management did not give them the authority or ability to actually resolve the problems.
This was supposed to be a holiday, but instead it felt like a struggle from beginning to end.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering staying at this hotel think twice and look for alternatives. If you are looking for a holiday rather than an exhausting and frustrating experience, stay somewhere else.
We had the opportunity to spend one day in July at the Atlantica Aqua Blue hotel with Day pass conditions. It was truly amazing! We were able to use all the facilities that All inclusive offers - gym, pools, water park, free drinks at bars, buffet lunch, snack bar, entertainment activities, even pool towels were given out for free.
The hotel area is not large, but it is very beautiful and well-groomed. The three large cascade-type pools make this place look especially sophisticated. The hotel staff, with their kindness and helpfulness, make this place even more enjoyable. The manager Maria is at the top of her game, the entertainer Jennifer led the best aqua gym I have ever participated in, the entertainer Tormi led exciting games and the entertainer Masoma worked with the children in the kids' club, which has everything for active children's entertainment and activities. At the last pool bar we met the bartender David, who is definitely in the right place with his skills and sense of humor. What also caught my eye was the large number of lifeguards. I think this is the safest hotel area I have ever seen.
The buffet lunch was so good that it would be worth coming here just for that. Also the cocktails in the bars are so delicious that it is not difficult to taste one too many.
In the morning we were a little worried that spending so many hours in the hotel area would make us bored, but the time passed incredibly quickly and we were really sorry to leave. We didn’t even have time to go to the nearby beach near the hotel area, but we visited it the other day and found that it is also very nice and safe for families with children.
After such a well-spent day, we would really like to return to this hotel for a longer period and enjoy the Atlantica Aqua Blue hotel as full-time guests.
Thank you to the hotel staff for the hard work!
Fantastic! The entertainment team was grateful, especially Deborah with the squad fitness, the playing time although all kind of kids and the all-day smiling
Exeretika❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
It was a very modern and clean hotel with modern rooms and the pool was great! Perfect location and good for families with children
Breakfast was wonderful but the food and drinks by the pool, at the cafe was awful, not fresh and there were only a few options
בירכה גדולה
ב9:00 בבוקר אין מקום לשבת ע"י הבירכה
המלון נקי ונעים
האוכל מעפן והמיקום מרוחק מהמרכז.
We have just returned from a two week stay at the Atlantica Aqua Blue. This was our second visit to the hotel, having really enjoyed our stay last year. Unfortunately, however, this year’s experience wasn’t quite the same.
The Positives
Starting on a positive note, there were three members of staff who really made this stay special for us: Deborah from the entertainment team, and Nick and David at the Blue Bar Pool Area.
Deborah – Entertainment Team
Deborah was exactly what you would expect from a great entertainer full of energy, enthusiastic and always trying to get people involved in the various activities.
She went above and beyond with our little girl, taking the time to do activities with her and making her feel included. Deborah really made the last week of our holiday for us. She was always smiling, chatting with guests and creating the holiday atmosphere you would expect from a hotel like this.
She even went one step further and came to say goodbye to us when we were departing. This was a really special touch for us as a family and showed just how much she genuinely cared about the guests.
Having a full entertainment team with the same energy and enthusiasm as Deborah would make a huge difference. It would also make the activities on the schedule feel much more inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.
Nick & David – Blue Bar Pool Area
The service we received from both Nick and David at the bar was above and beyond our expectations. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them, they were always smiling and they genuinely made us feel welcome.
Staff members like these two make a real difference to the overall holiday experience.
The Room
When we first arrived, the room was presented well and all areas appeared clean. Unfortunately, these standards were not maintained throughout our stay.
The bathroom was particularly disappointing. After two weeks of use, areas such as around the sink clearly needed cleaning, but throughout the entire two week stay this was never done.
The Restaurant
This is where I feel the hotel has the biggest area for improvement, and unfortunately I don't have much positive feedback regarding the restaurant experience.
Firstly, I feel the restaurant would benefit from a manager who creates a more welcoming atmosphere for both guests and staff. On a number of occasions, we found the current manager’s attitude and tone uncomfortable, particularly when directing families to tables. The way some conversations were handled did not create the friendly atmosphere you would expect from a family holiday resort.
The restaurant itself also does not feel large enough when the hotel is operating at full capacity. We deliberately varied the times we went for both breakfast and dinner throughout our two week stay, but on every occasion we struggled to find a table where we weren't effectively sitting alongside another family.
Overall, this was disappointing, particularly as we had such an enjoyable experience during our visit last year.
Overall
It’s difficult to give a completely negative review because there were certainly members of staff who made a real effort to make our holiday enjoyable. Deborah, Nick and David deserve particular recognition for the way they treated us and made us feel welcome.
However, compared with our experience last year, we felt there had been a noticeable decline in some areas, particularly housekeeping and the restaurant experience.
The hotel has a lot of potential, and with improvements in these areas, alongside a stronger and more enthusiastic entertainment team, we believe it could once again provide the experience that made us want to return in the first place.
Very nice hotel with friendly and polite staff. Maria from Guest Relations was really kind, helpful, and professional. She made us feel very welcome. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back again!
Very nice hotel!! The staff was amazing!
Hotel was lovely, food and location was great. Deborah from the Entertainment team was absolutely brilliant especially with our little boy. She is always happy and interacting with people.
Everything looks clean and new.
The staff was very nice and helpfull.
The pool bar food was very good for the kids.
The pools were big and clean, it didn't feel crowded.
The kids slides were fun.
The rooftop sushi bar was very good (you need to pay for it)
The air conditioner in the room can be set to 23 and not lower, it was not cooling good enough, we woke up at night because we were hot and had to sleep almost naked. .
We had 2 rooms in different buildings, it was too hot in both of them and I heard other guests complaining about that too.
The a/c is working - but not good enough for people who are used to sleeping in a cool room with a blanket.
The food in the main dining room was average.
There is no separate shallow pool for young kids , all the pools are 1.40 except the pool that has the slides in it.
Safety hazard in the middle pool: one edge of the pool is high from the ground and our kid fell from it on the first day there when he came out if the pool and walked backwards. I saw 2 more kids fall there, I think it should be gurded with a fence against a fall.

It was ok, but we expected better.

We stayed at Alantica aqua Blue for 2 weeks and I gave a 4 star rating based on these points
Rooms:
We stayed in room 604 which was a swim up room. The room wasn't the biggest but we made do. The room was modern and was decorated nicely. The room was clean and the cleaners came everyday (but they did miss one day but we didn’t mind). As we had a swim up room on the balcony had two chairs and little table with umbrella. The small patio was small but again it fine but it can slippery so be careful. The only slight problem that the by around mid-day the pool in the swim up room will be in the shade due to a large tree covering half the pool.
The pools and waterpark:
There was three main pools that flow into each other. The water in main pool is warm but the water in the swim up room was bit cold but agian it was fine. They had a small water park which was nice. All the pools (including the small kids pool) was all 1.40 meters deep. There is a beach down the road about a 4 minute walk. We did have a problem with ants in our room.
Food and drink:
The hotel has 4 restaurants (we didn’t vist any) and one main buffet and a snack bar. The snack bar had wide range of foods and snacks including chips, burgers, gyros, nuggets, salmon salads, wraps doughnuts and cake etc. The doughnuts and cake they serve are fabulous and I would highly recommend. The main buffet can be very busy in mornings and evenings but lunch was a bit quieter. The breakfast was nice and had a nice selection of hot and cold foods. Lunch was nice too, it also had nice sized selection which anyone can find something. Dinner was nice which again has selection that can anyone could find something. The only problem I would recommend to look out for is the chicken which can be a bit raw at times. The drinks were amazing I especially recommended the kids mojito and pina coloda was really nice. The men at the pool bar by the main pool was kind and friendly.
The location was convenient as it was little drive to ayia napa or protaras. I would recommend not buying any floaties from the shop in the hotel as they could be quite pricey. Also a big thanks to Anna guest relations manger was kind and always helpful but loads of the staff were kind and helpful so a huge thank you to everyone who made this stay a memorable experience. Overall this was a great hotel and I would recommend for anyone who is looking for a hotel in Cyprus.
The hotel staff were very inviting and warm and gave us a wonderful feeling of home! Especially David the bartender and of course, Deborah from the entertainment staff. They made out son's first vacation abroad feel like heaven!! Always smiling, always attentive and absolutely amazing!! A++++++
The location was great, plenty of parking and everything within reach.
The swim up pool with our room was amazing and the upkeep of the same pools and kids slides was very clean well kept.
Staff was very helpfull and ready to help.
Cleaning sevice was also great.
The reception and the outer look of the hotel gives you a wrong "luxury" impression. The rooms and corridors within the hotel lack maintenance and upkeep such as occasional broken tiles marked with danger tape, corridor fitted carpets coming off the floor, walkway doors difficult to open and room's bathroom door doesn't even closes due to moisture expansion.
The worst part was the room AC which seemed to be on a timer during the night while we were asleep, randomly turning on and off automatically. This was definitely not door or temperature related as there was a 23deg limit on the wall controller and when the AC goes off, the room would definitely reach higher temperatures before it goes on again, sometimes it went off even for 20 to 30 minutes!
The morning breakfast was ok, even though the scrambled egg was bad! ... very bad, dry and very watery in the bottom and one single toaster for a restaurant that can hold hundreds of customers at one go.
