Outstanding as always... have stayed at the Parkgate many times and I cannot express just how spectacular this is. It is probably the best hotel in Wales. It is unrivalled in the cleanliness, professional service and atmosphere.
I cannot fault it.
Location, as expected, was excellent. Being able to park next door at the Principality Stadium was a real plus. Local car parks had very poor ratings but this had it's own security with manned barrier control, worth £30 for peace of mind. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Buffet breakfast was as good as it could be (I'm not a fan of buffet breakfast, prefer cooked to order).
There was nothing I didn't like.

if you need cardiff cenbtral location the its ideal
booked because they had a pool & sauna...So dissapointed that it cost over 40 pounds...should have said this when booking
- Beautiful and tranquil building
- Comfortable and aesthetically pleasing rooms
- Quality spa upstairs, even if the plunge pool is a charged extra.
- Perfect location, the heart of the city.
My only feedback would be:
- Rooms at the front of the building on lower floors aren’t sound proofed too well. Ear plugs may be necessary for light sleepers as the street wakes up below.
- 4pm check in is a little late to then charge a full nightly rate for. If more staff could be sourced to make rooms available just a little earlier in the day it would make a big difference to the customer experience of the place.

How helpful the staff were.
The room was clean, fully equipped and bed was very comfortable.
We loved the location.
The cooked breakfast wasnt great, lacked taste and even though we ordered a pot of tea, it never came, once the tea did come they also forgot tea cups... had to get up for the third time to get teaspoons.
The check in time of 4pm wasnt great, as we had dinner reservations at 6pm, felt we couldnt really enjoy the room.
Very clean and staff very friendly..
Breakfast was a little busy and finishes at 10:30 on the weekend. A bit early if you want a lie in.
Just a brilliant place to stay , staff so friendly and make you feel so welcome, location excellent 👍
Nothing I didn’t like
Stayed here previously, always a welcome sight to return to! Just wanted to give a special shout out to Sue who was working in the spa area when me and my wife attended for our spa treatment. She made us feel extremely welcome and upon discovering we were newlyweds from the day before, she went out of her way to make sure we had the best time. Cannot thank her enough!
