The Parkgate Hotel

We only came to the hotel for dinner, at The Sorting Room, but the food was incredible and the service even better. Thank you especially to Massimiliano xx

Took the wife for a pre birthday celebration we had a fantastic time the room was outstanding very clean and the staff were amazing and made it a night to remember will definitely be going back

I’m a massive hotel snob and like to have an occasional overnight stay in luxury hotels when the chance comes up , we’ve always used the Celtic collection and have visited the Parkgate before , however this time felt completely different ! We stayed on the top floor adults only ‘signature collection ‘ I put a note in the comments for a chance of the best room available with the best view for my rate ! I was not disappointed! From start to finish everything was so easy , requested earlier check in and although not guaranteed I was lucky enough to be able to check in from 2:30! No fuss I opted to have the key added to my Apple wallet so just walked in and up to my room when I was informed my room was ready ! On landing on the 6 th floor the hotel had turned it up a notch , the spa was on this floor too, we needed a key to enter the floor, and on arrival in our corridor we were greeted with a coffee machine , Welsh cakes , jams and delicious little cakes along with a fridge full of cold still and sparking water , this in itself felt like a luxury I’d never been offered, even in hotels I’d paid more for ! 608! Absolutely beautiful , the entrance hall, the bathroom, the small lounge and bedroom were all tastefully and luxuriously decorated, we even had a pillow menu !
More drinks and snacks in our mini fridge and and a delicious little box of chocolates ! We looked right over the principality stadium and over Cardiff rooftops , it was a great view from a building in Cardiff city centre.
We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment there. We didn’t really come across many members of staff but the staff we did were very polite , smartly dressed and friendly ! All areas of the hotel were spotless !
Sorry I’ve waffled on but hopefully I’ve painted the picture well enough for anyone to try this hotel and the signature rooms ! Very reasonably priced for what we had ! Well done parkgate hotel , finding better will be a very difficult job !

We got a jnr deluxe suite for my wife’s 40th and it’s without doubt one the best places we’ve stayed. The location was amazing for bars, restaurants, the Principality, and most importantly the railway station. The building and suite were so elegant and beautiful. And the staff were second to none. Everyone, from reception, to concierge, to waiting staff, to room service and bell boys were beyond charming. The food was fantastic too, and very reasonably priced. A special mention for Harvey who went above and beyond to help us. Cannot recommend the Parkgate enough.

This was our third stay at the Parkgate Hotel, and each one has marked a special milestone for us. The second time, we got engaged, and this time we stayed the night after our wedding — it was the perfect way to celebrate.

After a few messages ahead of our stay, we were given a wonderful upgrade to a signature suite, a lovely surprise that made the day feel even more special. The room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable, exactly what we needed after such a big day. We were welcomed with complimentary prosecco and macarons, plus a fully stocked mini bar, all lovely touches that didn't go unnoticed. Breakfast the next morning was great, and the late checkout that comes with the signature suites meant we could really relax and enjoy the moment rather than rush off.

From the little extra touches to the comfort of the room itself, the team at the Parkgate made us feel truly looked after. It's become a special part of our story, and we couldn't have asked for anything more. We'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special place to stay in Cardiff.

Location and the architecture of the building.

Amazing stay! The wonderful Ali in the Spa made my experience for my birthday, she couldn’t do enough for me!

Cannot fault. Lovely well presented hotel with fresh modern bedrooms, great staff, lovely building and super central at an excellent price. Wonderful linen and cleaning was excellent

Loved our stay at The Parkgate. A fun, food‑filled weekend with the sister‑in‑laws, plenty of laughs, and the dreamiest spa to unwind in.
My 50‑minute full‑body massage was absolutely amazing Anya, my therapist, was brilliant. She worked on all the tense areas, explained what she was doing, and gave really helpful advice on which TempleSpa products would benefit me going forward.

I made a request for a different room and was met with understanding and kindness, lovely front of house team.
