Great location and reasonable price for family rooms
Pros:

Location! Everywhere downtown was walkable from our hotel. The metro stop is literally a block away and breakfast included helped with the cost

Cons:

Only got housekeeping 1 time during our week long stay. They did change the towels twice but toilet roll wasn’t replenished and we had to ask for more from reception. We chose not to hire a car as valet parking was $49 before tax per night. We noticed that there were other cheaper ($10-$20 per 24 hrs) parking lots nearby if you are willing to park off site.

Thanks but no.
Pros:

On a rush trip to Minneapolis and this hotel had good rates relative to where I usually stay (ie, Canopy). There are two entrances, one of which appears to be near a police building. That entrance is fairly confusing to get into. The other entrance requires a key card so back I went to the confusing entrance.

I was given Room 221. When I got there, I placed my key card on the digital reader in the room door and went in. Something was bothering me, though. I did not hear the familiar click of the lock unlocking, so I went back out into the hallway and shut my room door. I then just tried the door handle to enter my room. It was clear to me that the digital lock/card reader is not working. I went down to the front desk, as that is a security issue when I am not in the room. The gentleman at the front desk told me the hotel was full because of a volleyball tournament, but he would have maintenance get on it first thing the next day.

Humorous note about Room 221: the window in the room looks out onto a white brick wall that is part of an alleyway.

I left for client meetings at 5:30 a.m., but I mentioned this issue again to the front desk clerk, who was somebody new. He reiterated that he would have maintenance on it. I also followed up by phone at 11:26 a.m., and the woman who answered the phone promised she would make sure maintenance went to the room to fix the faulty card reader. When I got back to the room at 1:00 that afternoon, I was once again able to go straight into my room without needing the key card. Talk about disappointed.

There is no safe in the room, so I had to bring everything valuable with me. I went down to the front desk again to talk with the new front desk clerk (#4 by this time!). While waiting for the clerk, I noticed the Home2Suites guarantee on the wall. "If you are not satisfied with your night at our hotel, that night is free" I again explained myself as to what was going on and that I was not really happy about the situation. I mentioned the guarantee that is on their wall. She told me she was not authorized to do anything, but that I could speak to the manager. The only thing she could do was assign me a new room - #520.

I spoke with the manager, and he said that is not the right room to be assigned, but rather I should be in room 514. He also said he would reverse the charge for my first night. I sprinted back upstairs and moved my stuff so that I was able to get to my book club on time.

The next morning I woke up to four or five red spots on my skin. Bed Bug bites would be my guess as I typically do not go walking through tall grass when I am on a business trip.

The breakfast is basic. This morning, as I was leaving for my next flight, there were scrambled eggs, turkey sausages, and potatoes. This is standard fare you would find at any hotel and not particularly compelling.

The gym is good but there is no pool. I can't say I will stay here again.

Pros:

Breakfast was good, not perfect but good

Cons:

My sheets weren’t clean, and there was hair in the bathroom. Also, some basic items should be provided when guests make housekeeping requests, but they weren’t

Pros:

Breakfast was good. Location was great for my kids and concert venue.

Cons:

The shower in our room didn't work. There was a leak and water sprayed everywhere when turned on. Very disappointed. Not sure how this wasn't reported and fixed prior.

Could do better
Pros:

Walking distance to US Bank stadium

Cons:

They weren't prepared as far as staffing for checking in. Waited in line for 45 min to check in. The hotel said they only had vallet parking but it was full at 3:30 pm and had to park a few blocks away. There was garbage under the bed and lights that didn't work in our room. They also only had 1 reg coffee pod in our room.
