Upscale comfort in the Hilton Curio line
Pros:

The Hilton Curio line is an upscale line. The Ray Hotel Delray Beach carries out that high level. Staff (particularly front desk) was uniformly friendly, helpful and accommodating. The Ray is located in the heart of the Delray district with tons of restaurants, clubs and boutique shops. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated in both the common areas and the individual rooms. The room (king bed) was comfortable, updated, and contained all the necessary features you would expect of the Hilton Curio line. However, rather than a desk area, there was only a narrow credenza and two ottomans for sitting at it, which makes it difficult if one needs to work on a laptop and have other papers around. Disappointed too that the only real parking options were valet parking at $42/night, or day-by-day parking at a slightly lower cost. That adds considerably to the nightly cost of a hotel stay. Still, if visiting Delray again, I would stay here again, and at other travel destinations having a Hilton Curio facility.

disappointing - no value for money
Pros:

Location at 2 steps from active Delray area and still reasonable walking distance from the beach

Cons:

I was not assigned the right room that i had booked on booking.com.. I had to request for it.
The breakfast was supposed to be included but at the end, was charged as an extra. And that breakfast is really poor, Just a separate coffee shop inside the hotel

Excellent Staff!
Pros:

The property is located in just the right place. It's walking distance from the heart of Delray, with a ride service to the beach and bikes for guests' use.
The true standout for me was the staff. Anna, Oscar, and Gwen are a great management team. There are so many people who took care of me during my month-long stay, too many to mention.
The property is beautiful, and I cannot say enough good things about the restaurants, their management, and the staff. The Akira F&B Program on-site is excellent and operates with a welcome-to-all philosophy. Matt and Michael are fine stewards of that mission. Kelly and Val were knowledgeable and complement each other nicely as a team.
Bobby from facilities was quick to respond and very capable when needed.
An improvement I would suggest: the beds are due for a change.
Again, thank you all.

Misleading Advertising and Poor Service
Pros:

This hotel falls far short of the luxury experience it advertises.

The only aspects I genuinely appreciated were the tasteful room design and the fact that the property is pet-friendly. Unfortunately, those were the only highlights of our stay.

For a hotel positioning itself as a luxury destination, the level of service was disappointing. Staff were not proactive, and the overall guest experience lacked the attention to detail and professionalism that should be expected at this price point.

The rooftop pool is extremely small and doubles as a party venue with a bar. Loud electronic music and heavy bass continued well into the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. We were staying on the second floor, yet the noise was so disruptive that it significantly impacted our stay. A luxury hotel should prioritize guest comfort and ensure that those looking to rest are not disturbed by rooftop events.

Another misleading aspect is the location and views. This is not a beachfront property, and the views are primarily of neighboring buildings. The marketing can easily create different expectations.

The most unacceptable part of my experience, however, was the breakfast charge. I booked through Booking.com using a rate that clearly stated breakfast was included in the total reservation price. Despite this, the hotel charged me for breakfast throughout my stay. When I contacted the hotel, they acknowledged the mistake and assured me that I would receive a refund. More than a week has passed, and the refund has still not been processed. This level of service and follow-through is simply unacceptable, especially for a hotel claiming to provide a luxury experience.

Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel. Luxury is about much more than attractive décor—it is about exceptional service, comfort, honesty, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this property failed to deliver on all of those fronts. There are far better hotels in the area that offer a significantly better experience and far greater value for the price.

Great resort, be aware pet friendly.
Pros:

Great hotel.. more of a resort than hotel . Staff very accommodating.. the beach shuttle was a wonderful add on especially in summer.
The only issue which we never considered was this is an animal friendly hotel. Tons of dogs. No “animal only rooms”.
My husband had an awful allergic reaction during our stay.. just something to consider when booking.. they really should designate certain rooms to pet friendly only..

Pros:

Austin went above and beyond to accommodate for our travel plans at the front desk. We had a few hours to kill and helped set us up with a day pass at the hotel as well as hold our luggage. Would 100% recommend The ray to anyone and will be visiting back soon!

Great option.
Pros:

Nice property. New, clean, tastefully executed rooms and lobby, decent location in Delray.

The only unfortunate part was the 4th of July rager on the rooftop pool deck which ran late. Usually I wouldn't care but we were in town for a national tournament and had to play the next morning.

Noise aside, we were pleased and would definitely return.

The good and bad
Pros:

The good - great gym. Amazing location. Room was comfortable.
The bad - staff is inattentive. Cleaning staff speaks neither English, nor Spanish which makes things tough. The advertised “hotel restaurants” aren’t affiliated with the hotel. You can’t charge your meals to the room, so if you have a cr w your cr card company, you can’t use it for that. The rooms on the fourth floor are noisy and there’s no place to work if you’ve brought work with you. Oh … the doors in the rooms don’t close properly so make sure they’re closed ALL THE WAY when you leave or you’ll leave them open.

Nice time at The Ray
Pros:

Great and kind staff. Rooms were clean. The gym had everything I needed for a good work out. I'd stay here for my next visit to Delray. Great food options at all their restaurants.

Terrible customer service
Pros:

I would not stay at this hotel again.

When we checked into the hotel on April 16, 2026, around 8:00 p.m., we were informed about a mandatory $39-per-day resort fee. We were specifically told that if we didn't use any of the resort amenities, the fee would be refunded.

First of all, what exactly is this "resort fee" paying for? This is a hotel, not what most people would consider a resort, and it's unclear what amenities justify an additional $39 every single day. We were told the fee would be refunded if unused, so we relied on that promise.

We never used a single resort amenity. Yet months later, I still have not received a refund.

What is even more frustrating is the complete lack of customer service. I have called The Ray numerous times and no one answers. I have emailed every address I could find—including Hilton—and have received virtually no response:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected] (twice)
[email protected]

Today I even called Hilton Customer Service. The representative, Rose, told me she couldn't reach anyone at The Ray either—which unfortunately wasn't surprising. She attempted to transfer me anyway, despite my explaining that this has never worked before. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was simply told there was nothing they could do.

The issue isn't just the $39-per-day fee—it's the complete absence of accountability. If a hotel promises a refund, they should honor it. Ignoring phone calls and emails for months is unacceptable.

Buyer beware: Don't stay here unless every fee, refund policy, and promise is documented in writing before you leave the property. Once you've checked out, don't expect anyone to answer the phone or respond to your emails if there's a billing issue.

Two stars only because the location was great and the hotel was clean. Everything else—especially the customer service after checkout—was incredibly disappointing.
