The location is excellent, the breakfast is absolutely outstanding with an incredible variety of food, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, the overall experience did not feel like a five-star hotel.
The first issue was the bed. Through the fitted sheet, I could clearly feel that the mattress underneath was covered with pilling or rough fabric. This is not something I would ever expect in a five-star property. On one of the following days, housekeeping placed a waterproof rubber mattress protector under the sheet, apparently to hide the problem. Unfortunately, sleeping on top of a rubber protector was even more uncomfortable, as it trapped heat and made sleeping unpleasant.
The TV wasn't working because the cables had been broken. It was during the football championship, and unfortunately it was not posibe to fix.
Housekeeping also needs improvement. Small things on the floor, such as botle of shampoo on the floor or a cotton swab, were left untouched after cleaning. Coffee capsules and tea were not consistently replenished, so I had to call reception several times. I also requested an ironing board on my first day, but it wasn't delivered until after I had already left the room.
Overall, the location, breakfast, and friendly staff deserve five stars, but the room quality, housekeeping, and management standards do not. Unfortunately, this was not the level of service I expected from a five-star hotel.
