The history and present culture of the lodge Is an amazing thing. The amenities and food are top notch along with the ambience. Plus it’s a good bang for the buck!
As a longtime Hilton Diamond I’ve stayed at numerous hotels. This was my first time staying at an SLS property and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The hotel is a beautifully restored and remodeled Catholic seminary. The rooms and grounds are very well maintained. It is located in a State Park and the setting is lovely.
The history of the property is interesting and there are lots of photos documenting its past. Rochelle at the front desk was very knowledgeable about the property’s history and even showed us yearbooks from the seminary’s school.
I also received a room upgrade as a Diamond member. I highly recommend this hotel.
After seeing a few videos about The Lodge on TikTok, I booked a long weekend stay for my mom and I. All the staff (valet, front desk, servers, etc.) Were friendly, helpful, and professional. And all the food and drinks (coffee, cocktails, and cocktails too!) Weather tried were delicious with quality matching the high standard of the property as a whole. We'll definitely be back!!
Be sure to book the history tour—you get to ring the bell in the tower!
We live in Seattle and knew of St Edward's Park but have never made the 30 minute drive out to the lodge. Shame on us. What a lovely get away without a long drive. The room had a comfortable king bed and while smallish, it had everything you needed. There was a library where we could play games and grab snacks just down the hall. We played pickle ball before our departure and enjoyed drinks at the Tonsorium Bar (very creative cocktails) and a good menu.
We got a great deal through a gift card and if an opportunity presents itself again, we would gladly go back.
Excellent stay with the proximity to many trails. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. We really enjoyed the library space where we could get snacks and beverages for no extra cost. I would appreciate the property even more had it had a hot tub and a swimming pool, but even without these amenities the stay was pleasant.
This place is a hidden gem!
My husband surprised me with an overnight stay for my birthday. I had a lovely massage at their spa, then watched the Seahawks make it to the NFC championships (with sound off) while enjoying a couple of NA cocktails and snacks at The Tonsorium Bar. Afterwards, we had dinner at their restaurant, Cedar and Elm. Our server was excellent and thoughtfully accommodated my dietary restrictions.
We ended the evening with an art stroll through the halls, where they’ve curated some beautiful pieces. The next morning, we enjoyed lattes at the Heritage Bar, then took our dog for a walk and loved the trails.
The staff was probably the best part of our stay—everyone was so helpful. We will definitely be back.
10 of my friends celebrated my girlfriend's 40th birthday at The Lodge. We had dinner, drinks and used the spa the next day. The hotel was quirky and comfortable and staff was very friendly. My room was so cozy and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I liked that the room didn't have any strange lights from appliances and the blackout curtains were great! The spa was so accommodating for me and my friends; they went above and beyond to help make our celebration wonderful. I would definitely recommend staying here.
this was a hidden gem to us. We visit often to the area, and wanted to try something different. the facility is gorgeous, the staff goes above and beyond with everything we asked about. the food is great, the drinks are great, the coffee...outstanding!
The lodge is a beautiful, restored historical building with a large lawn, and some walking areas lead down to the lake. The restaurant inside the hotel used to have excellent food, but since they changed the chef, it is not the same, unfortunately. The hotel is located in a state park, and it is well managed. It is a quiet and peaceful place.
Located within miles of Seattle, this hotel was like the experiences we have had in Europe. Far far beyond its competition.
I was disappointed that such a high priced (per my budget) accommodation offered no hot tub spa. The hair conditioner dispenser in shower did not work. There was not night light in bedroom or bathroom. Being seniors who get up to go to the bathroom at light this is a bit of a safety issue.
Highly recommend!
The rooms are small but luxury appointments, beds are quite comfortable with pillow selection with quality options.
Note: no refrigerator in room, but do offer personal sized ice offerings, so if you need anything to stay cold, bring a small cooler.
The private “Library” (game room) a surprise highlight! Comfortable furnishings and a wall full of assortment of board games and table games, chess set, backgammon.
A fun hidden treasure for enjoying time with friends and family.
The staff is the star here!
Every staff member here, are happy to be of assistance, the valet and front desk were helpful with our arrival and check out ease.
The Chefs are skilled! WOWZERS!
And waitstaff are friendly and knowledgeable, with all of the menu and wine selection options.
Both Bar services have crafted and skilled and creative bartenders also.
We’ll need to return on a dryer day and explore the grounds and area but it was an amazing experience for us and actually enjoyed being there with a storm outside! I think it created a sense of “Stay and enjoy” happily.
Staff was all very helpful and engaging. The standard room is a bit tight but had all the amenities we needed and the bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed the original details of the hotel and the carful modernization. We enjoyed walking the park and all the other available amenities
This is an update for my family's Sept 2025 stay. We are a local family & chose The Lodge for recovery from a traumatic family event. Our room: #412. 1-nite cost: $568. In my now-deleted review (Trip Advisor doesn’t have an option to update a review instead it must be deleted and replaced with a new one), I explained our 1-star experience & how it only added to our trauma. A face-to-face discussion, written letter and a detailed Trip Advisor review resulted in a management response. This review is to say that I appreciate that we were given a one night free stay in a nice room and a generous credit for the restaurant. I returned (solo) for the night of my birthday. The room: #523. This time all amenities in the room, the plumbing & HVAC worked properly and our stay was relaxing. 5 stars given for the ambiance and management’s response to the September debacle. Of note: 1. the beds are plush which means, for me, not enough support for a less-than-youthful back, and; 2. Be sure to spend time in the Library, which is the place for bottled water, snacks, reading materials, puzzles and board games. There’s a happy hour served there, too – but not on the day of our visit, and; 3. The fitness room has nice equipment, and/ 4. The spa services are the best!
Don't be fooled by "this used to be a seminary". The hotel is well-modeled and equipped with everything you would need. WiFi is clear even though the area is secluded. Food and drink are excellent. Rooms are clean and well maintained.
The Lodge at St. Edward Park is in a lovely park setting. They do need to rethink their ADA rooms that are too far fro the elevators and the tub walls are too tall for an elderly person to use comfortably.
The general aesthetic was nice. Conveniences of the bars and restaurant was great. Loved the hiking trails and playground nearby. Bed was comfy and room was clean for the most part.
Upon arrival my son and I waited 10 minutes at an unattended front desk to be checked in. The person checking us in was nice and my son mentioned that was it was my birthday that day and the person said that they would bring a dessert next day, but it never happened. From my bed I could hear a buzzing from soemone’s phone next door which was an annoyance. I also had a hard time sleeping bc if the air quality. I turned the temp down to 66 degrees and the AC kicked in along with a really bad musty smell. I shut off the air and opened the windows and of course we were near all the buzzing of the mechanical systems outside. I woke up early due to all the smells from the kitchen. I didn't get sleep. Based on my experience and money spent I don't think I’d stay here again.
What a fantastic 2 night stay in a wonderful spot, with amazing staff. We have never felt so welcomed as we did at The Lodge at St. Edward Park. We will definitely be back!
