I had a great stay at the Thompson Hotel for my birthday. The hotel was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the whole experience felt special. A big thank you to Nicolas Gonzalez at valet he was very kind and welcoming. I’d definitely come back!

Had the best time this weekend at Thompson Austin. Our favorite hotel in Austin. Always so amazing, with the best staff, food, drinks, location, etc. Can’t wait until we get to go back again!

The Thompson is a fantastic hotel, I will definitely come back when I'm in the area. It is centrally located and an easy walk to many events.

Our overall experience was quite disappointing, with a combination of room issues and some service issues marring our stay.

In the early morning we started to notice the smell of sewage back up into our bathroom and attempted to flag this to the front desk. We had to call housekeeping ~3x, and the front desk ~3x before anyone picked up the phone to address the concern.

To the hotel’s credit, they promptly sent an “engineer” who simply flushed our toilet and said “this should get better” and left. After arriving back from daily activities before dinner we saw human waste and toilet paper backed up into our toilet, which made the whole room reek.

After going down to the front desk in person they were apologetic and helpful. Ultimately we were moved into the same style of room that didn’t pose an immediate health hazard. That said there was no additional effort to make things right. After providing feedback to the hotel (which the hotel proactively asked for) they again said sorry and continued to make no effort to rectify an egregious issue. They simply hoped they could welcome me back soon for a more seamless stay. At a hotel that routinely charges upwards of $500/night (before fees) I was fairly surprised by this, and I don’t think I’ll take them up on their offer.

Overall, I can’t say that I’d recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the city.

Rooms and amenities are great. But WiFi is chronically spotty, valet is often overwhelmed, and room service can take 2 hours on a busy night.

Thompson Austin never disappoints! This was my second stay here and Nick at the front desk upgraded my room which was spacious and clean. Housekeeping and the amenities were amazing! The staff was always helpful and attentive. The pool was very small, some place to hang out vs doing any swimming. The only improvement I can recommend is to screen guests a bit better, for some reason the guest next to my room was drilling into the wall (yes, the guest, not someone from the hotel). I asked the front desk about it and they immediately resolved but it was just a very odd experience. The Thompson will be my go to for any stay in Austin, well done guys!

Would not recommend this facility for a function. They are very difficult to work with and nickel and dime. Gratuities and service charge on room rental. Tea is additional and not included in cofffee service. Be sure to ask for water for your event. Really?

Lovely hotel. Great location. Had an excellent room, meals, and overall great experience. Would stay here again. Customer service was outstanding. Recommend the valet parking option.

We had a great stay. The staff went above and beyond. They were fur baby friendly. Johnny at the valet was awesome!!!

The location is great, it's only a couple of yards from 6th Street. The atmosphere is amazing, it was a great restaurant and bar on the 4th floor. The Rooms are modern and minimalistic, with a bathroom and bedroom incorporated. The value was on the top, I spent less than I expected for 5 days. The cleanliness was perfect. The noise is something that you can expect if you are in the noisiest streets in Austin. The service was sensational, I went in a motorcycle, and they gave me a place to park. They gave us water at the front desk. Details create magic moments. Thank you.

This is specifically about the valet Marquis! What a friendly guy and super helpful with great local tips - practically a concierge :) our stay at the hotel was not memorable but we had to make sure Marquis was duly recognized as we’re yet to see such a great valet person. Thank you Marquis! Franklyn’s bbq was the best :)

Just want to give a shout out to the valet team, especially Nicolas, who has greeted me each time as a friend. His professionalism combined with warmth and sincerity has been a big factor in my choice to return to the Thompson again and again.

The whole is great, just wanted to spotlight Nicolas.

Thompson austin did not disappoint. From the amazing concierge service, to the outstanding housekeeping and superb food and beverage staff. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in the Austin area. Particularly if youarw here on business or if you are a younger and like to go out to sixth street at night. Very convenient for bars and restaurants. Overall, food was excellent, gym was perfect, location was great.

Loved my stay during SXSW. Nicolas at valet greeted us when we arrived and gave us a warm welcome.

The people who work at a hoitel make the experience cool. They are eager to help resolve , friendly, good at their jobs and project an air of friendluness that is as close to authentix c as you can get. I wish there were a little more variety in the hotel restaurants .....but it seems Austin is more a place to be out and about in a fun world of engaged experiences. So....

For a busy hotel with limited space in valet a guy named Marquis keeps it moving while organized.

The Thompson in Austin was amazing! From the moment we arrived, the valet and bellman promptly greeted us and assisted with our bags. The front desk staff, room service, and restaurant team were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Every need was anticipated before we even had to ask. Our room was spotless and offered a fantastic view of downtown. We also loved relaxing with margaritas at Arriba, where the guacamole was absolutely delicious.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Thompson Austin. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. I was there on business, and the hotel’s catering for our event was fantastic.

The only minor issue was that I could occasionally hear guests in the room above me dropping things and talking loudly enough that it sounded like they were in my room.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would happily stay there again.
