Our stay at Le Chateau was honestly one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had in Pondicherry. For ₹5500 per night, we expected at least basic cleanliness and decent service, but unfortunately, it was far from that.
The room itself did not feel clean, and the toilet was very unhygienic and smelled bad throughout our stay. What shocked us the most was finding a used toothbrush kept back inside a sealed dental kit cover something we never expected to see in a hotel.
There were no towels in the room when we checked in, and even after asking multiple times, nobody brought them. The complimentary breakfast was also very poor. The bread and croissants seemed old and stale, and the only fresh item we could actually see was the upma.
Overall, the experience completely spoiled the stay for us. Pondicherry has so many better places to stay, and I would genuinely recommend choosing another property instead of this one.

Poor staffing, unkept ungroomed premises and staff too ungroomed. Washrooms just essentials. Surrounding neighborhoods has better hotels

L'hôtel gagnerait à être "investi" dans l'optique où la propreté générale laisse grandement à désirer. La proximité de la plage et le fait que l'hôtel est situé dans le "White town" lui fait gagner des points.
A beautiful character building with a lot of charm. Choosing a balcony suite at the front is totally worth it. The hotel staff were neither friendly nor rude but just came across as indifferent but not what I’m used to when dealing with hospitality employees. But then mostly everyone I interacted in Pondicherry seemed like that so it must be a regional thing. There was no daily housekeeping which also seemed odd. Despite these things, I would stay here again solely for the charm of the building and convenient location. Just two short blocks to the ocean.

Charged 7500 /- per night (which is at par with some good 4 star hotels)for a room which was small, unclean, shoddy, breakfast offered was below average considering the money they charge. The rooms here is not worth more than 1500 per night oyo hotel

I think the rooms were a little musty because of rains earlier. I had to air mine out ever day...that helped.
