Pros:

We booked this hotel as a family of 4 because it was within budget and one of very few hotels available for our dates of a last minute ski holiday. We had read the reviews and didn't have high hopes. However, before the trip I emailed several times about various things and was always responded to quickly and accurately. On arrival and check in we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful man who spoke English and was very helpful and accommodating! We then went to our room- a japanese Tatami/futon room. It was clean and heated and no mould. However, we heard from other guests their rooms did have mould.. It was big enough and had a clean bathroom and toilet. The shower wasn't amazing, but it worked. At dinner we were pleasantly surprised. Again, it wasn't amazing, but it was better than the reviews and there were plenty of options- katsu curry, fried meats, vegetable dishes, basic salad options etc. Considering the price we paid, we were happy! The onsen in the basement was amazing. The showers had a good pressure and great temperatures and the changing rooms super warm. We showered down here daily as well as enjoying the free onsen use. So, whilst it isn't a 5* hotel, it never pretends to be one! We thought it was pretty good value for what we paid- we were right next to the middle ski lift.

Cons:

There was definitely mould around the hotel and as some reviews say, the wall paper is peeling off in areas. However, this wasn't the case for the whole place. Yes, it definitely needs a bit of a renovation or facelift, but then I imagine the price will double.

Pros:

The driver on the snowmobile was really friendly. Food was mediocre.

Cons:

Fake pictures on the booking.com site. Really run down. We decided to move after two nights. The booking was for 6 nights.

Nice spot to stay if you are skiing
Pros:

Great location right on the snow and close to Sora Ropeway.
Friendly staff and great view from room.
Nice restaurants for lunch within walking distance and up the mountain.
Breakfast and dinner included.

Cons:

Quite an adventure to get to the hotel - Shinkansen, electric railway, bus and snowmobile.
If you are not skiing there is not much to do after you have done the ropeway.
You need to rely on the snowmobile to get up and down to the information centre (for ropeway tickets, hire equipment, snowboard lessons etc). They only do limited trips a day which would have been nice to know so we could book as soon as we got there. Some rental equipment at the hotel but nothing for kids. Weren’t even able to borrow a toboggan or sled for the kids to play in the snow with.
Was quite a cold hotel, especially in the dining room.
Felt like a school camp.

Pros:

Cons:

布団が薄く身体がとても痛かったです。

Ski in ski out with limited facilities
Pros:

It was truly ski in ski out with ski rental available at the hotel at a discounted price. Top tip is if you want to take advantage of the free helmet rental grab them at the information centre on your way up because you can't ski all the way back to the info centre and they don't have helmets at the hotel. Nice hot water in the shower/bath, good room heating and the staff were very friendly.

Cons:

The food was ok but we didn't love it - a bit of a school camp vibe. That said, it did the job and the staff were super friendly. You really need to take any extras with you as there is limited availability of snacks/drinks etc. We stayed in a Japanese family room which was comfortable enough.

AVOID AT ALL COST!
Pros:

NOTHING. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. IT is extremely dirty and moldy, and the food is below anything I have ever been served. Absolute slop.
It is a camp for high school kids. Do not expect any cleanliness or quality of food or service.
We left early and were not offered a reimbursement.
There are not alternative restaurants and you are a prisoner in the hotel at night. We were forced to eat instant noodles instead of eating the horrible slop they offered.
The rental equipment is wet and at least 20 years old. The bindings broke just by putting them on.

Cons:

Here is what my 10 year old daughter wrote throughout our stay.
One star
My stay here was horrible, first when I walked in the ceiling was all ripped apart. Second the room was very small and the slippers were very uncomfortable. Also, the food was disgusting. The meat tasted like it had been in the fridge for a week. Also, the dessert was frozen. Then when I went to the arcade, two machines were broken and the gumballs and the gumball dispenser were full of dust. This is advertise as a normal hotel, but it is mainly for high school students and unsuitable for families. Another thing is that the light switch in our room was broken. Also, the photos on the listing are completely inaccurate. In the room, the bedsheets had many stains on them and the blanket full of dust. Also, there was no hot water and they also turned off the heating on the toilet seat. At breakfast, the sausages tasted like they had been mashed up, and the pasta was not cooked enough, and the coffee was bland probably instant also the juice was very blend and it tasted like chemicals and the Jell-O tasted like soap. There was also grease dripping down our door. another thing is that even if the ski hill is closed, you still have to walk up the hill to get there. The hot spring was OK but the water lasted 5 seconds and the water was either too hot or too cold. Also, there were stink bugs all over the place. In the basement the walls and ceiling had mold all over it.
