The hotel is a little overpriced for the location.
Pros:

Great Staff.

Cons:

Rooms are not very soundproof. There was construction going on across the street. That was pretty noisy.

Pros:

Very modern style. Could see water from our bed. Parking can be a major strain. Elevators open to the rear on the floors so a luggage cart is difficult.

No place for luggage except on the floor. Very little storage. Very small room.

Not impressed. Two others Marriotts nearby. I wish we stayed there.

Location and the staff member who checked us in, Beau. He was great

Cons:

There was nothing else that I liked. It was a very sterile environment. We could not get a comfortable temperature in our room. I requested an iron and ironing board to press a shirt. The iron had not been cleaned from burnt remnants and it ruined a brand new top. I like a home away from home feeling and this was not it.

Cons:

Parking was terrible, not enough spaces with an overflow lot streets away requiring payment and reimbursement. This was a major issue for me. Breakfast provided was ridiculous, ended up getting breakfast elsewhere.

Confusing misalignment between Booking and the property’s policies!

They charged me 1 1/2 months before my check-in for the full price of a rez that was supposed to be “no prepayment,” and when I called the hotel they said the rez was non-refundable. I had a free cancellation with Booking up to three days before check-in? No coordination between Booking and the hotel. When I complained to Booking the promised they would reverse the prepayment charge, which they never did.

No table in room, the bathroom was more of a hallway no privacy ,no space to put things like adesk or table the breakfast that I paid extra for was like takeout not worth the money. Very disappointed.

Overall a great stay
Pros:

Aloft Portland is a modern hotel close to many of the downtown attractions. I loved the clean / comfortable room, helpful front desk staff, and fun lobby & bar area. The room setup was a bit odd and there wasn’t a lot of privacy between the beds and the bathroom. Also some of the outlets didn’t work which made phone charging challenging. Despite the minor things that I didn’t like, this hotel was good, it’s in a great location and is a great value. I would stay here again!

The layout of the room is not ideal for a family. You could not even take a shower without being seen. The lack of door was ridiculous. Thankfully there was a door for the toilet! Huge disappointment!
