A great place to stay for a short visit.
Pros:

Enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Great location, beautiful amenity, and friendly staff interactions. Especially, 5 minutes walking distance from the Nelson Atkins museum, and all-day coffee machine and snack bar made our stay even more pleasant.

Cons:

Only wish the hotel room lighting could be brighter, or using adjustable light switches.

Beautiful honeymoon stay

Cons:

Had some trouble checking in. The room & stay were a gift but the check in email and codes were not sent to the guests… and even with prior conversations and assurances there would be no problems with truitt staff (not on site), this created a 30 minute drama when the guests (honeymoon couple) arrived to check in.

Beautifully restored mansion in historic district. Very quiet area.

A bit chilly due to unseasonably cold evening but we had snugly blankets to ward off the chill.

Gorgeous mansion - highly recommend
Pros:

Such a lovely stay! Everything was clean, well stocked, and gorgeous!!! Walkable to the Art Museum and very close to UMKC and Country club Plaza. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again. We had 2 king rooms and a king suite. Thank you!

This is a true gem and a fantastic place to stay!
Pros:

My husband and I spent three nights here and did not want to leave! The Truitt is such a respite from the busy world. Beautiful, tastefully decorated, private, quiet, it was so relaxing. It was very convenient to the art museum, restaurants and all we wanted to do. So much better than any hotel. We I’ll definitely stay here again if we return to Kansas City.

Lovely house with good location. We expected more for the rate we paid.
Pros:

The house was beautiful. The decor was tasteful. We especially liked the sunroom. We also liked that there were no noisy guests even with a full house.

Cons:

Poor lighting and no magnifying mirror in the bathroom made it hard to shave/apply makeup on. More snacks especially breakfast snacks would be good. Parking in the premises was limited.

My go to place to stay when I visit KC. The Aida & Truitt properties are great!

Pros:

If TripAdvisor had a 6-star rating, The Truitt would get it without hesitation.
The design of this hotel is genuinely the nicest I’ve experienced anywhere in the U.S. Every detail feels intentional, elevated, and beautifully executed. It has that rare feeling of luxury!
The customer service is exceptional. Every interaction was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which makes such a difference to the overall stay.
The rooms are incredible. The beds are unbelievably comfortable, and having a private balcony completely elevated the experience. It felt like a little escape within the city.
I would come back here in a heartbeat, and honestly, I’d stay here ten times over without even considering anywhere else!
Highly, highly recommend.
