Everything was perfect, except the blind caused us a lot of distress

Cons:

We came home late at night and the drawstring on the window that operated the Blockout blind was stuck. I rang reception but had no answer. By this stage it was nearly midnight. I went down to level 2 to speak to somebody but there was only one person on the desk with numerous clients wanting to check in. The person was extremely helpful but they were preoccupied with other clients and I had to wait my turn. It wasn’t until closer to 1 am when they were able to come into our room while my girlfriend was half dressed lying in bed, and showed us how to pull the blind down manually without using the extension cord. The good news about that was that we could wake up in the dark at a reasonable hour, but the bad news is we got to bed much much later than expected and it was a real inconvenience for us.

Overall we were very happy with our stay, the location was so handy and the room was ideal.
Pros:

The room was small but really well thought out. It was nice that there was an office type chair as my husband spent a fair bit of time on his laptop. I really liked that the shower/ bathroom door doubled as a privacy door for the toilet. The bed was quite comfortable and you could have a choice of pillows if you wished. The complimentary breakfast was really great. I expected little more than a basic continental offering but there was a cooked choice and lots of variety.

Cons:

Given that everything else had been so good, we decided to see how Happy Hour stacked up at the bar. Unfortunately, this was not great. My husband was offered a pot of beer which is about 1/3rd less than a schooner - the schooner usual price was less than the happy hour pot based on volume. I had the wine, a standard glass is usually 150mls but this was a particularly small glass and I doubt I was served 100mls. We didn't stay for a second glass.

Pros:

Hotel was located about 3 minutes from Southern cross station. Close to tram on Collins st on free tram zone. Staff checked us in early eventhough we arrived before check in time. Room was clean with black out curtains and very good noise insulation. Breakfast in the morning a plus and if you want fancy coffee theres one downstairs right outside.

Cons:

Nothing its great.
