Pros:

Location, value fir money

Cons:

Management.
Had agreed with receptionist who was nice and professional to pay extra for late check out but later her manageress overuled her staff member. In these cases u either advise your staff to not agree to anything without asking u u first or you honor the I had had yo check out at 8 am which spoiled my whole stay.

Overall I was very happy with my stay at the Maldron.
Pros:

I was staying for only one night, but many aspects of my short stay were excellent.
The staff were very welcoming, They were courteous, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about the local area and the city as a whole, especially when giving me the shortest walking route to anywhere, for example, to the main shopping areas, the station etc.
The room was perfectly fine for a short stay. There might be a shortage of clothes space for someone staying longer. The shower floor had some wear and tear damage to the surface but mercifully it was simple to use, whereas in other hotels I sometimes have problems controlling the flow and temperature of the water.

Cons:

I found the constant "doors closing" and "doors opening" voice from the three lifts very annoying, although it didn't bother me at night and my room was quite close to the lifts. It was always confusing because when standing waiting for a lift you could not quickly see which lift was going to open and the robotic voice was constant.
The evening meal at the restaurant was unremarkable and the service not particularly attentive.

Pros:

The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Great location for seeing Manchester university. Relaxing bar to have a drink in the evening. Will definitely return.

Met the need for a hotel near universities, centre and main traffic route at OK price and quality
Pros:

Location relative to universities and town centre. Fitness centre (though not personally used). Pleasant atmosphere.

Cons:

Too little cupboard space in room. No room cleaning staff available after 4 pm. Warm food at breakfast a good selection and regularly replenished but IR lights do not keep it warm enough. Bed high, chairs and toilet seat low (almost child level). Hotel ticks almost all selection criteria offered by websites, but some things which are not usually asked seem less well thought out (though not disastrously)

An excellent stay!
Pros:

Had a great time at the Maldron in Manchester. Staff were exceptionally helpful and the rooms are modern, very clean, air conditioned and really well appointed. It had a great atmosphere with a bar and dinner/breakfast area that was welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. When I departed I left a laptop USB-C charger in my room but a quick E-mail and I got an extremely friendly response within a few hours with help to arrange getting it back to me. Very impressed all round. The gym also has two running machines which is rare, so often there is one. These were good Precor models and great for a quick run.
