The bad- I specifically called ahead of time to request adjoining rooms. We were in town for college graduation and was told it would not be a problem, and a note had been added to the reservation. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told there were no adjoining rooms available. They did place us in a side by side room, but that was not the same arrangement we had confirmed in advance, and it significantly impacted our plans for the evening. One of our family members was on the 5th floor and had an odd room number and heard the train several times during the early morning hours and said the road noise was bad. We had additional rooms on the 6th floor with even numbers and we did not hear the trains. The walls are not sound proof and you will hear your neighbor. There is a fee to park at this hotel of $21. For $500/night there is a higher expectation.
The good. Sen checked us in and she was very professional and kind. I did not blame her for the adjoining room situation. She did not make our reservations and tried her best by putting us in rooms side by side. The hotel is clean with comfortable bedding.
We had reserved the bar area at the Willard Rooftop Lounge. I worked with Leslie in Catering to reserve the space and accommodations. She was great to work with. Ian was our server and did a phenomenal job of herding the cats. The food and drinks were good and the views from the rooftop are also good. I give the Willard Lounge and their staff 5 stars.
It was right under my birthday reservation
Everything was great
Was by everything stores food place
Great experience and stay
Nothing
The breakfast was extra and I had no problem paying. However the seating options were very limited. Adding a few (3) 2 seaters would make it more reasonable, as sitting alone at a 4-top felt too much.
The day and night staff couldn't be more different. The day receptionist made my family feel uncomfortable and looked down upon for even staying. The night receptionist was far more respectful and had no problems.
Location
Very noisy, lack of any sound proofing- much noisier than the average hotel room (both street noise and hallway/ adjacent rooms
I paid in full on this site. I pointed this out at check in and it was acknowledged, however my held credit card was charged in full at the location at checkout. I called later that day of checkout to bring this to their attention and was told it would be credited back should show up on my card in 2-3 business days. It did not and I called again two more times - both times the desk staff acknowledged that there was a double payment and that their manager would fix it. After about 3 weeks of no communication or return of funds, I submitted a dispute through my credit card company. The funds were then promptly refunded. Bringing this up once, with correction of the error, would have been an accident and is understandable. Bringing it up four times with complete lack of follow through on the part of hotel management is disregard for guests at best , or possibly intentional fraud.
