Bigger room in tokyo, highly recommended
Far away from central ueno walking for 800 meters but near convenient store.
Lovely apartment style accommodation, friendly and helpful staff.
A little too far from main train station, no english channels
washer and dryer a plus!
Acqua potabile gia' negli appartamenti, era disponibile un erogatore solo a piano terra
We stayed in this hotel at the beginning of Golden Week. When we got off the flight and were exhausted, we opened the door and thought this was way smaller than we expected. But once we opened the shade to let some light in and started putting our things away, we warmed to the room. After 4 days, we loved the place. It was smaller than we expected, but it couldn't have been more efficiently designed. We loved having a washer dryer and it worked fairly well. It dried ok if the loads weren't too large. I'd recommend doing small loads every day vs. one big load at the end. They only provide a partial translation so you might have to google a bit to figure it out. Once you do it's pretty straight forward and only a couple of buttons to wash, wash and dry or just dry.
It has a nice kitchenette, a great shower and bathtub. It looks like the shower will make a mess of the bath, but you close the door and the rest is kept completely dry. The bathtub is small and deep but great after a day of touring.
In our room (the standard family room), one side of the bed faces the wall and so one person had to climb over the bed to get in and out. I would have picked a bigger room if I had known! But other than that, we were very happy with the room and got used to living in the small space. We had a couple of snacks and a dinner in the room and the table was perfect for that.
There is a 7-Eleven very close and a Lawson's the other direction. There is a wonderful coffee shop RepubliQ Tokyo right next door that opens at 8am (closed Friday). A very friendly owner/barista, great coffee and wonderful breakfasts and sweets. We went since it was open at 8am but we came back every day it was open for the great coffee, food and warm surroundings.
The walk to the Ueno station for the Shinkansen is 15-20 minutes and can be hilly with lots of stairs. We walked from the Shinkansen coming to Tokyo but should have taxied with our luggage. Another part of the Ueno station is more like 6 or 7 minute walk. It depends on the line. We liked being in the Ueno area. Easy walk (without luggage) to food and shops and a residential vibe near the hotel.
We stayed in another MONday property in Kyoto that was a bit newer and fresher, but I would still stay here again if we came to Tokyo.
清潔で広く使いやすい部屋
エレベーターが混雑
I like that this property was not far from the Ueno train station. Also it was very close to Senso-ji pretty much at walking distance! The room was extremely roomy with pretty much 4 beds, a dining table, shower, bath, kitchen and laundry machine. The room was clean and well organized.
Nothing.
