Highly recommended but a bit pricey, even for NYC (maybe because of the Mondial).
Pros:

Everything, but especially the staff who were exceptional - helpful, accommodating, flexible.

Cons:

The doors to the rooms don't close easily, and you need to slam them - so it's noisy!

One lost wedding dress, zero accountability
Pros:

I'll start by saying I don't often leave reviews but felt compelled to in this case.

Pros: very well located near lots of subways, room was fairly spacious for NYC and clean
Cons: the doors to the room slam, so you hear that at all hours since it's a party hotel. The biggest con, is that I left my vintage wedding dress for my friend to pick up at the front desk and the way the whole situation was handled was such a disappointment.

When I checked out, I left vintage wedding dress for my friend to pick up with her name and number on the bag and I was given a luggage tag but was never told that was any time frame in which it needed to be picked it up. Arguably she waited a long time and came to pick it up about 12 days later, she never received a call from them telling her she needed to pick it up in the meantime. When she gave the luggage tag, they said they couldn't locate it... I tried following up several times and eventually received an email from the Front Desk Director which I was really grateful for. I provided all the details requested and then never heard from anyone again in spite of following up several times.

I used to work in hospitality in NYC at another comparable hotel, and was absolutely floored by the way this was handled (or not handled). I know there's an inherent risk to leaving something at the front desk, and I take accountability for that.. but the whole situation felt incredibly mishandled, the people who "tried to help" were generally very dismissive and completely not responsive. The whole situation, was incredibly upsetting because it's a one of a kind vintage wedding dress that cannot be replaced.

Overall, fine hotel, but absolutely do not leave anything of value in their care and don't go in with any expectations of hospitality.

Everything except the bar was great
Pros:

Front desk and staff was great

Cons:

They told me upon my arrival the bar closed at 12 am I went to the bar at 10:55 pm and the bartender told me she couldn’t serve me drinks because she had no ICE.. we are in a hotel with ice machines on every floor .. she proceeded to close the bar down and send me on my way but the hotel were telling ma about the late bar like it was there pride and joy only for the bartender to tell me she’s going home a hour early

We had to be in this area for a wedding so it was fun but if you’re looking to relax not the place to be.
Pros:

Clean, hip vibe, comfortable bed.

Cons:

The whole building shakes when the subway train goes by. We were on the 5th floor and our bedroom would shake every 10min when the train would go by. This was VERY unpleasant. Also the bar area had the AC blasting at full force so we were freezing in June!!

Ace Hotel in Brooklyn NY
Pros:

The Ace Hotel in Brooklyn, NY is well located near to good restaurants and shops as well the subway. The Holter has a great vibe has a Sushi restaurant and a coffee shop. The room was super clean and cool retro style very comfortable
Fridays and Saturdays night is a party time with a lot of people with loud DJ music in the hotel lobby. I didn’t like it !
Beside this I will recommend it !

My New York Stay at the Ace
Pros:

My experience was amazing. My husband and I stayed there because we were getting married, and I wanted to have a nice place to take getting-ready pictures before my wedding. The staff were polite. The lobby bar was stacked with your favorite beverages. The small diner was nice also. I will definitely stay there again.
