Seh ruhige Lage mit sensationellem Personal. Die zuvorkommende, aber nicht aufdringliche Art, ist sehr angenehm!
The Tanneries is a beautiful 5-star hotel with exceptional service! We especially enjoyed the seaside breakfast (amaaaazing made to order options) and the complimentary valet parking. The location is super nice on the water but also walking distance to the center of Chania or swimming spots nearby. The staff were very helpful with their recommendations for local beaches too!

Fantastisk frokost- noe av det beste vi har hatt. Alle i familien var fornøyde. Vi var et reise følge på 6 voksne og ett barn på 1,5 år.
Vi bodde på det jeg mener var rom 209, og gjennom hele natten var det en vedvarende pipelyd på rommet. Lyden vekket oss med jevne mellomrom og påvirket nattesøvnen vår betydelig. Vi tror pipelyden kom fra kjøleskapet på rommet. Jeg burde ha tatt dette opp ved utsjekking, men i all travelheten glemte jeg dessverre å nevne det.
I tillegg ble jeg skuffet over håndteringen på avreisedagen. Vi måtte sjekke ut kl. 11.00, mens flyet vårt ikke gikk før kl. 20.00. Vi var seks voksne og ett barn på 1,5 år, og jeg spurte derfor om muligheten for å beholde et rom noen timer ekstra eller eventuelt få tilgang til fasiliteter slik at vi kunne dusje før avreise.
Løsningen som ble tilbudt var en suite til 280 euro for 5,5 timer, noe jeg opplevde som urimelig kostbart. Vi fikk heller ikke anledning til å benytte dusjfasilitetene i spa-avdelingen, da denne var opptatt med massasje- og spaavtaler.
Jeg må si at jeg synes dette representerer en service som ikke står i forhold til standarden og inntrykket av et ellers flott hotell. Etter en natt med forstyrret søvn hadde jeg forventet større fleksibilitet og mer imøtekommenhet, spesielt når vi reiste som en større familiegruppe med et lite barn.
Jeg håper dere vil ta denne tilbakemeldingen til etterretning og vurdere om det er grunnlag for en form for kompensasjon eller annen oppfølging av saken.
Breakfast was exceptional, especially the location. Balcony view was stunning. Staff bend over backwards to help with impeccable English. Steam shower was a real treat. Big comfy bed.
An exceptional hotel, but the people are what make it unforgettable
I don’t usually take the time to write reviews this long, and perhaps that already says something. This is simply my small way of giving something back for everything I received during my stay.
I came to Chania combining business with a holiday, and The Tanneries is one of those rare places that stays with you after you leave.
The hotel is beautiful, right on the water, with wonderful rooms and atmosphere. The breakfast is exceptional and the restaurant is excellent.
But what truly makes this hotel special is the people. From the moment I arrived until I left, the entire team was warm, attentive and genuinely kind. They remembered our conversations, gave me great recommendations and made me feel truly welcome.
Sometimes when you travel, you meet people only briefly, almost like a leaf brushing against you in the wind, but somehow they leave a mark. That is how I feel about the people at The Tanneries.
If I return to Chania, for business or holiday, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else.
Thank you to the entire team for making my stay something I will remember long after leaving Crete.
