The staff. The food. Air conditioning during a heatwave
Nothing
A great place to stay with good access to public transport on the doorstep with the closest underground station being, East Putney around a 15 minute walk. We stayed at the Spread Eagle for business which far exceeded our expectations after initially being sceptical about booking pub room accommodation.
We received a friendly welcome at reception and a friendly service in the pub bar throughout the duration. We booked a boutique room which was a double room comprising of a bathroom with a walk-in shower, decorated and presented to a high standard. A large and comfortable pub with great food and menu choices. You have a choice of entering via the quieter separate reception entrance, or via the pub bar area itself. We highly recommend staying at this great establishment, which would put many top hotels to shame. We will definitely be returning!
Comfy bed and nice bathroom
We had two rooms. One was very dark but comfortable. The other was brighter but had a putrid smell and no working sockets. Staff were reluctant at first to address the issue and only offered a refund when a member of the housekeeping team spoke up. We wouldn’t stay here again!
We stayed at Spread Eagle in London for a few nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is full of character, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The location was excellent for exploring the city, with easy access to transport and local attractions. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting London.
Clean, staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be.
WiFi wasn’t working, also couldn’t get any channels on the tv
Warm welcome from all the staff both in the pub and the hotel, friendly vibes, beautiful room . Looked after our bags . Excellent location 😃
I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The room was not clean – towels, bed cover, floor, bathroom were dirty with hair and yellow and brown stains. Additionally, they could not fully accommodate for my special needs despite having been informed ahead of time. I would not recommend the hotel.
It was very well decorated and clean . Our room was very cosy
Could t get the tv to work and would like some more tea bags !
Amazing hotel full of character.
We arrived like bleary-eyed bumpkins after a long drive up from North Devon and trundled into the pub by mistake where the very friendly staff pointed us towards the correct entrance for the hotel reception (it’s just down a side street by the way!) We’d been a bit nervous about staying above a pub, particularly with the World Cup football on but actually it wasn’t a problem at all and our room was very quiet. If road noise bothers you I’d ask for a courtyard-facing room. Ours was right at the front but I found the traffic quite soothing.
The room was every bit as beautiful as I’d hoped and also a lot bigger with plenty of storage space for our 4 night stay. My partner is very messy so it was great to have cupboards to stuff all his clutter into. There was also a well-stocked mini bar fridge and snack basket that we dipped into occasionally. Loved the stylish Victorian decor and luxurious bed and the bathroom was spotlessly clean.
We were visiting friends and family, attending a function and enjoying a bit of art and culture so the hotel was located perfectly for us to reach Southbank, Wandsworth Common and a trip to Soho. We would absolutely stay again and can’t thank the staff for being so friendly. Already penning another trip in the diary and will be choosing a room with a copper bath this time.
Oh and it was quite handy having a gym across the road!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was beautifully clean and well maintained, the bathroom was modern and spacious and the air conditioning was very effective. Graham was extremely welcoming and the breakfast was outstanding. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Very rude staff!
