It was clean

We stayed for two nights in May as part of a trip around southern Spain and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, very well appointed, and perfectly located in the heart of the city, making it ideal for exploring Cádiz.

What really made the stay special, though, was the staff. Every member of the team was genuinely warm, polite and caring, and they created such a welcoming atmosphere throughout our visit.

The restaurant next door is absolutely divine, with fantastic food and equally excellent staff.

A special mention also goes to the rooftop terrace, which was pure bliss. You can still hear the gentle buzz of the streets below, which adds to the atmosphere, but it remains peaceful enough to completely relax — I even drifted off in the sun!

We would happily stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Excellent boutique hotel and room in a very good location within easy reach of most of the points of interest. Very inventively fashioned with lots of quirky & original touches. It’s on a nice quiet street close to cafes and bars.
The staff were brilliant - could not do enough for us, many thanks Carmen & Fernanda! We were provided with a list of Tapas bars & restaurant recommendations that turned out very well.
Would definitely return next time we’re in Cadiz.

We were due to stay at this hotel for 3 nights in mid April. Unfortunately due to an issue beyond’s the hotels control we were unable to stay the first night. On returning to the hotel the next day we were met by the manager who couldn’t have been more helpful. We were allocated an upgraded room and complimentary breakfast for the duration of our stay.
This is a lovely hotel , perfectly positioned for the old town. Really good staff. Particular mention to Fernanda who was especially kind.
The measure of a good business is often how you are treated when things go wrong and in my case they got it right.
I would definitely stay at the Boutique Hotel Casa Canovas should I visit Cadiz in the future.

Perfect stay in a renovated mansion centrally located in old town Cadiz, great location. Friendly staff and a really high quality Italian style restaurant at the hotel. The front desk organised a very early morning transfer to Jerez airport for our flight to Madrid.

What a wonderful find this was.
The hotel is in an old renovated merchants house in the centre of Cadiz and was a fantastic and charming place for us to stay for our week in Cadiz. It is centrally placed and within walking distance of everywhere in the city centre.
We stayed at the top of the hotel with its own flight of stairs and 2 outside sitting areas - one off the bedroom (and with an outside bath) and a further small terrace up a further small flight of stairs. These outside areas gave us birds' eye views of the city and the higgledy piggedly roofs and terraces. The room itself is very pretty with all you could want, as was the bathroom (of special note the lovely tubes of shower gel, and the shampoo and conditioner).
The hotel is privately owned and totally individual and the owners were very visible and involved.
This brings me to the absolute stars of the hotel - Carmen and Carmen (mother and daughter) and Fernanda who covered reception and could not have been more friendly or helpful and just plain delightful. We were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived and they were all determined that we enjoy their city - which we did. It is a great place for pottering, finding hidden gems or just sitting in the sun and people watching.
There is a great restaurant next door (owned by the hotel) for breakfast and supper and I have written a separate review of this as well - it was fantastic too.
We loved Cadiz and would totally recommend staying at the Casa Canovas to add that something special to your visit.

Everything. The location was perfect. My room was fantastic. Beautifully appointed and the bathroom was modern and very big. Front desk folks were so helpful.
