Surfland Hotel

Location, service, and amenities excellent. The walls were thin so we could hear the next room conversations and TV. Staff was very friendly. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Surfland.

During; our check in, there was an issue with the fire alarms. The staff was gracious in dealing with this and even called our room to make sure we were comfortable. That was going beyond expectations in a difficult situation.

The view and the hot tub

The view facing the beach was beautiful and close to the beach. Comfortable beds, big enough room, sink separate from the toilet. The morning breakfast was also satisfying. If someone inclines to, there is a public fire pit where people can sit and chat at all times of the day. There is an indoor pool that has a lot of space.

Great location and awesome views

We have loved the property for the last 10 times. This was our 10th visit and they never fail to impress me with the view, cleanliness and the amazing staff!

The property was very clean, stylish, and had a wonderful view. We also liked the included breakfast and pool area!

That they returned our money and cancelled.

Very disappointing and nowhere near the rating

I honestly cannot understand how this property has such a high rating. Based on our experience, it is completely misleading.

We stayed here for a long birthday weekend to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and unfortunately, the hotel was one of the biggest disappointments of our trip.

The property is old and dirty. It feels like it was once a nice hotel, but those days are long gone. Our room was on level -1, which felt like being in a basement rather than a hotel. The room smelled strongly of mildew and felt dirty from the moment we walked in.

The furniture was in terrible condition. The chairs and sofas were visibly stained and looked very worn and neglected. Then came the worst discovery: my phone fell behind a piece of furniture, so I had to move it to retrieve it. Behind and underneath it, I found leftover food and debris from previous guests. It was absolutely disgusting.

This immediately made us wonder what is actually being cleaned in the rooms if food from previous guests can remain hidden behind furniture.

The most frustrating part is the discrepancy between the hotel’s rating and the reality of the property. I genuinely do not understand how the operator can rate or promote this property so highly without regularly inspecting the rooms and the overall condition of the hotel.

The only positives are the location and the fact that parking is included. Other than that, there is very little we can praise.

We came to Oregon to enjoy a special birthday weekend, and unfortunately, staying here was not the experience we expected at all. We would absolutely not stay here again and cannot recommend this property unless the hotel undergoes a serious renovation and, most importantly, a major improvement in cleanliness and housekeeping.

Perfect location on the beach, very clean and comfy room, nice breakfast and staff.
