On new years eve My room had an attemted break in the door was broken .I got the staff to my room and asked to be moved due to my concers. The room is called Oliva right by the maids room. They said that there is no cctv in that area. The person who attemted to break in was one of the staff,(inside job) that happened while fireworks were going off .They became aggresive and I had no choice but to leave. The hotel and the staff are very courrpt and if you stay there you will likely be a target espeailly if you are not Mexican and if you stay in room Oliva.I reported it to the Police and showed them the pictures but Its Mexico and nothing will be done about it.PLEASE TAKE MY ADVISE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL
and avoid Mexico .Any football fans going there for the world cup Dont
We stayed here four nights and appeared to be the only guests for our first few nights. Hotel Amatte is one of the most beautiful hotels in which we have ever stayed. In fact, there was a photo and video shoot by a Pierre Cardin team during our stay. Hotel was a short and inexpensive Uber ride to the Jardin and all the activities--Uber is a necessity as the location is close to the top of a very steep hill. The restaurant is rooftop so breakfast was a bit chilly even with heaters (menus are only available in Spanish). The hotel is not geared towards non-Spanish speaking guests--it was challenging to communicate at times with the front desk when we had questions although they were always professional. Hotel was clean. We did not use the pool as the water was quite chilly. Lighting was dim in our guest room which was frustrating at times. It added ambiance but attempts to read were challenging.
Personal und Design, Restoran war sehr gut
The hotel itself is undeniably beautiful and very aesthetic, clearly designed with visuals in mind. However, the experience did not live up to expectations.
First, the pool is essentially non-functional. It’s more for show than actual use, which was disappointing given how prominently it’s featured.
Our stay was pleasant at first and the staff was kind, but things took a sharp turn when we were invited into attending a “club” presentation. They repeatedly insisted it was not a timeshare, though it very clearly was. The presentation was confusing, misleading, and poorly explained. We were told it would take 90 minutes, but it ended up consuming 2.5 hours of our last day in San Miguel, which was extremely frustrating. They even asked afterward “what was promised,” which thankfully was nothing aside from a small lunch that went nearly untouched because we had already eaten beforehand.
Another major issue: we were originally told that breakfast was complimentary as part of our booking. After we declined to join their “club,” they suddenly attempted to charge us for breakfast during checkout. When we pushed back, the manager responded in an extremely unprofessional and petty way, saying they would punish the server and deduct the cost from the waiter’s salary. That moment made us so uncomfortable that we literally left the hotel immediately.
Additional notes:
• There is a large road nearby, so traffic noise is constant, day and night.
• The beds were uncomfortable and left a lot to be desired.
Overall, while the hotel looks beautiful in photos, the disorganized sales tactics, misleading information, poor management response, and lack of guest-focused hospitality completely overshadow the aesthetic. We would not stay here again.
Great location, nice amenities, positive customer service and new hotel overall. Has free transportation
within the City.
The hotel is beautiful and spotless. The terrace views are stunning, and strolling through the galleries or by the pool is truly relaxing. Warm staff super kind, friendly, and professional. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and wonderfully cozy. We had a fantastic stay ☺️
I stayed at Amatte Wellnest Community in San Miguel de Allende in August, 2025 and it was exactly the kind of escape I was looking for. Tucked into a quiet part of the city with stunning views of downtown the property blends modern design with a peaceful, grounding energy that’s hard to describe.
My room was beautifully minimalist—earthy tones, comfortable bedding, and lots of natural light. I especially loved the rooftop space, which was perfect for watching the sunset and enjoining a cocktail.
The staff were warm and attentive without ever being intrusive. We felt genuinely cared for by everyone there.
Amatte feels less like a hotel and more like a sanctuary. It’s ideal if you’re looking to unplug, reflect, and nourish yourself.
Tip: Bring good walking shoes—the terrain is a bit hilly, and you’ll want to explore the surrounding area too.
I’ll absolutely return, and I’ve already recommended it to a few friends. A true gem in San Miguel.
Very nice and clean hotel. Service was excellent. Nice view of San Miguel de Allende. Shuttle transfer to and from el centro.
Extremely disappointing service and communication. I’ve been trying to reach this hotel for over three months—most recently for the past three weeks—with no consistent response via email, phone, or WhatsApp.
When I finally connected with the reservations manager, Pedro, he promised complimentary services and upgrades and said he would confirm details with the general manager, restaurant manager, and executive chef. That was three days ago, and I’ve heard nothing since. No follow-up, no follow-through. I call, message and email, with no responses whatsoever.
As a guest, how can anyone feel confident booking at a property that calls itself a luxury 5-star experience but fails to deliver even basic communication? This lack of professionalism and service is unacceptable—especially when planning a special occasion. Truly disappointing and concerning. Beware before booking. The general manager needs to reach out to me and rectify this immediately.
Excellent
Lo único que no me gusto fue que había una boda ese día en el área del restaurante y la música estaba muy fuerte y se escuchaba en las habitaciones muy intensamente hasta las 3 de la mañana. Por lo cual no descansé muy bien por el sonido tan alto.
