Quirky cool and friendly. A great place to stay or hang out

Friendly staff, lovely vibe, cool decor. Had dinner at The Boot Factory and we very happy with our food. We loved our stay!

A very cool and laid back hotel with clean rooms and good food/bar experience. There is fantastic art everywhere, and everyone we interacted with was great — super friendly and helpful!

A few tips: if you’re coming from outside the UK, you will need coins for overnight parking — you can’t use your card and pay by phone doesn’t accept international cell numbers. The hotel won’t have change for the parking, so just be aware!

Also, as friendly as everyone was — if you are the kind of person who needs a hotel to be well staffed or constantly staffed, this one isn’t for you. We saw people when checking in and checking out, but not at all in between, though the staff in the bar/restaurant were very helpful!

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families with small children, but tweens and teens will find it very cool!

Very cool, perfect for our weekend. Great bar and cafe, cocktails and brunch in the morning were perfect.

The room was very nice but the restaurant seemed very chaotic and many items listed on the menu were unavailable. I think the restaurant side of the hotel needs to be improved. The quality of the food wasn’t very good either.

Stayed in the Broom Cupboard room for one night and as per my previous Artist Residence experiences, it was absolutely divine. Snug room but great comfort for just one person. Being on the top floor and staying on a weekday made the entire stay very calm and quiet, perfect to recharge. The vibe was very warm, clean and nearby to the centre of Bristol which I visited by foot only for 2 days. Will come back again.

Lovely stay, again. This hotel has the right mix of comfort and relaxation. Everything is as you need and the friendly staff quickly solve any issues which might crop up. Love it.

I loved my stay at Artist Residence. Not only was the vibe and aesthetic exactly as I hoped it would be (cool, arty, elegant), the service was wonderful. The receptionist went out of her way to make my stay lovely, especially as it was a special occasion. My room was absolutely beautiful, with wonderful small touches that made it a truly exceptional stay.

My wife and I booked last minute and from arrival we were looked after. The room was fantastic and dinner delicious. Breakfast chef was ill but the staff did their best to make it work.
