For a JP Marriot the staff were mainly students or short term / part time staff with no supervision. No proper knowledge of the leisure industry.
I spent 5 nights in a very small hi tech room overlooking 2main roads. A very bad experience and not to be repeated if can be possibly avoided. Although I have never stayed in a self service from what I have heard the Tasman fits into this category albeit at a higher price
The restaurant and coffee/ cocktail bar were good. The hotel side was very very poor except for the room cleaners ( housekeeping).
I felt welcomed and the location was perfect. It will be my place to stay for my next visit.
From beginning to end we had no issues and staff very accommodating.
Possibly another spot for second suitcase
People
2nd visit. Peppino and Mary Mary add to experience and means we don't need to leave the building on a chilly night. Room good size as a double. Reception staff helpful.
Not really a complaint but staff were going to send us away from restaurants on the Friday night due to bookings but there were many empty tables. We did get a seat at the bar as someone left at just the right time.

Room and hotel were lovely
Great location near the Harbour. Very comfortable hotel with accommodating staff and great emenities. Delicious daily breakfast with plenty of options to please everyone. We loved our nightly nightcap in the Mary Mary Bar.

The location of the Tasman is perfect. The restaurant and bar are excellent.
Did not eat breakfast at the hotel
The only comment that we had was that it would be good to know that the windows are 2 way glass as we thought they were privacy in the bathroom until we went on the street and looked back in, It might be worthwhile having a note somewhere in the bathrooms about the privacy
