Amazing.
Wonderful location alongside the river. So tranquil just watching the river.
Lovely room with big patio doors giving a view across the garden to the river. On one evening we had elephants walking only 20 metres away
Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice
Evening meal could be eaten on the verandah or alongside the river.
Boat excursions from the hotel
Reception had a full range of excursions
Bed turn down every evening
After luxury camping for 7 nights, the Palm River Hotel exceeded expectations for comfort, style, amazing staff and hospitality. Most relaxing and stylish location and truly a home away from home
Amazing location on the bank of the Zambezi River, beautiful grounds with a number of visitors including warthog, monitor lizards, ibis, monkeys and antelope!
Excellent accommodation and a la carte dining. Great base for exploring.
Location perfect - Atmosphere brilliant - rooms amazing = great Value - cleanliness top class - everything was superb and made a great impression on all of us
Gorgeous hotel and grounds! We loved our two bedroom family room, perfect space for the four of us to relax, have a drink, and enjoy the view!
Service was excellent throughout our stay and I must give a special shoutout to the wonderful lady (did not get her name) at the activities desk who went out of her way to help us make last minute extra excursions!! Thank you!
Restaurant staff and the menu variety were excellent! The location was a fairly close drive to all the attractions from town, helicopter, falls to Boma.
An excellent stay overall. Too short!
We were lucky to be upgraded to this hotel and was so impressed with the quality and staff. Restaurant and food was amazing, rooms gorgeous and location was so beautiful on the banks of the Zambizi River with wildlife sightings every day from warthog to hippos! Would highly recommend.
Palm River Hotel was recommended by our travel agent. Initially, I was reluctant because it is located quite far from Victoria Falls town center. Guests planning to dine independently or explore town on your own may find the location less convenient. However, as our meals and activities were largely pre-arranged, this was not an issue for us. The riverside setting was greatly appreciated.
The hotel provides a shuttle service to town. We asked the staff at Lookout Café to contact the hotel to arrange a pickup after lunch, although it took about an hour for the transport (which was outsourced to Wild Horizons) to arrive.
Check-in was somewhat slow, but still acceptable. All staff spoke good English, and we had no communication issues throughout our stay.
The breakfast was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the avocado toast and the mini shots of cucumber and beetroot juice. Our room was spacious, with a large bathroom, and was generally very comfortable.
One of the highlights of the property was the wildlife. We saw waterbuck, elephant, and a group of hippos on the hotel grounds during our stay. The hippo encounter was particularly memorable. After the hotel's BOMA dinner, which was held near the edge of the property, the hippos emerged from the river and began grazing on the lawns. We had to wait while hotel staff took precautionary measures before escorting us safely back to the main hotel area.
Given the location, the hotel also thoughtfully provided two insect-repellent sprays in the room (one for the room and another for body). We did notice a couple of small insects in our rooms during our stay, but this was not unexpected given the natural surroundings.
We also appreciated the afternoon tea (sourdough donuts were good!) and laundry service. After our Victoria Falls walk, our shoes were completely drenched, and the hotel staff managed to clean and dry them by the following day, which was greatly appreciated.
Overall, Palm River Hotel exceeded our expectations and proved to be an excellent choice for our stay in Victoria Falls.
The accommodations, grounds, facilities and staff were all top notch. I could find nothing to complain about. Would definitely return to this hotel if I ever came back to Zimbabwe.
beautiful architecture. love the Vic Falls Bridge Motiffs throughout the build
nothing
2 night stay. Wow. What an awesome hotel! Very well appointed room with a balcony overlooking the Zambezi River and the beautiful grounds of the hotel. Full service restaurant which looked wonderful tho we didn't try it. Breakfast was a nice buffet or order from the menu. Both options were good ones! Fitness room was very large, in a separate building, with indoor and outdoor machines. The complimentary shuttle was very easy to use and super convenient. Staff was unbelievably great! I could go on and on about this property. Trust me....it's beautiful..... stay here!!!
Absolutely incredible. The location, the food and the staff made our experience second to none.
Stunning hotel with amazing views of the water’s edge.
Staff fantastic made us feel really welcome
Food stunning and staff in dinning room were so lovely.
Even better were the unexpected guests from the Wort hogs chewing the grass around the site to the amazing visit from the elephant family every day!!
My only slight concern is the lack of handrails on steps down to our room which were quite steep .
Lovely location on the Zambezi River a bit upstream from Victoria Falls. Very nice rooms, all facing toward the river with a view through trees. Beautiful grounds. Cordial staff throughout. Rooms have either a balcony or open to a terrace on the lawn. Didn't use the pool, which is long but very narrow. Along with the main restaurant they also have a riverside barbecue-type dining experience.
Small things: It would be nice if the bathroom window could be opened. All the pillows on the bed were the same type -- quite thick -- instead of the common offering of two types on the bed.
I don't have enough compliments for this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. Beautiful, quite setting on the Zambezi River, with friendly & helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Spacious, clean and well decorated rooms, with complimentary mini bar and tea/coffee station. We loved all the activities offered by the hotel - Skha was a wealth of knowledge and helped to make all our activities effortless. We loved the Spa, particularly the massages - Thelma and Siza were amazing. The food was also excellent - and Ashley makes a great coffee! The hotel also offers complimentary afternoon tea which we enjoyed. A standout memory was seeing elephants on the property one afternoon - a truly special experience. I really hope we make it back to this wonderful place... and soon!
The Palm River Hotel was superb. I highly recommend it!
This place needs better management. We started off being allocated a ground floor room which was ideal except it was for disadvantaged people and so the bed was only a foot off the ground. We were quickly moved but only after we’d started unpacking. The turn down was poorly executed with none of the wet towels replaced. The bed was made up in the morning but the bottom sheet hadn’t been smoothed out nor the bed made particularly well. We requested an iron and the one we were given had wires breaking through the flex and leaking water. This again was quickly replaced but perhaps we shouldn’t have had it in the first place! Breakfast was good. Still waiting on reviewing the evening meal. We went to their sister hotel in Victoria Falls village for dinner. It was awful. My fillet steak was tough with gristle I had a fish ravioli to start with that didn’t taste anywhere near as good as it was described. Would I come back?
Palm River, Victoria Falls was a very nice hotel located right on the banks of the Zambezi River offering beautiful views of the river and the lush green gardens. It is hardly 5 minutes drive from the Victoria Falls Town and about 10 minutes from the Victoria Falls Park Entrance. We stayed at a Deluxe Room and it possessed all modern amenities with a private terrace overlooking the gardens and the Zambezi River. Breakfast was nice but there is lot of room for improvement. Similarly, complimentary afternoon tea offered to all guests needs improvement in quality as well as variety. The 2 hour sunset Ra-ikane River Cruise was outstanding and a must-to-do as you will not be finding a better Hippo-watching opportunity anywhere and from so close. Though Whale watching is available at lots of places but watching Hippos walking, swimming, playing and having fun in the Zambezi River was a unique experience. Complimentary Shuttle offered by the hotel to the Victoria Falls Town and the Victoria Falls Entrance was a great service. Thanks to Josefina for offering a very special 'agents rate' for our stay. Thanks also to the staff at the reception for arranging taxi/driver (James) for our visit to Victoria Falls on the Zambia side as well as the Livingstone Town, Zambia. It made travelling within Victoria Falls City as well as across the border extremely convenient. Overall stay at the hotel was very nice and we highly recommend it for stay while visiting Victoria Falls.
An excellent location. Great view of the Zambezi. Free shuttle to the Victoria Falls only a few minutes away. Clean well laid out rooms. Friendly staff. Great food and excellent ambiance. Highly recommended.
