Quiet
Great facilities, well maintained tennis and padel courts, lovely pool, great bars and restaurants, and friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner buffets were exceptional. Cant fault it.
Limited food options outside of mealtimes.
Lovely resort, pretty gardens and friendly staff and enjoying the water sports. But why are the staff choosing the music????? The guests are mostly (not all) aged 45 to 70. Yet we are listening to euro pop more suited to a teen disco at the beach today. Totally spoiling a beautiful afternoon.
My boyfriend and I visited Aeolian Village Beach resort from 31st May - 7th June and loved it here. The resort is safe, the staff are so so warm and friendly. In particular, we'd like to thank Florence, Fotis and Giorgos on the waiting team, Olympia on the morning kitchen team, and Gioros on the pool bar. They welcomed us every day and made an effort to chat. Service was efficient but also didn't feel rushed. The best word to describe the staff here is gracious - thank you also to the lady cleaning our room, she was lovely (room 34 in the viilage). Alice and Chloe (PT staff were great as well) - we looked forward to Volleyball and Chloe's stretch flow session left me feeling like I had just woken up super relaxed. Everything is clean and safe, and as you can tell, the staff made my experience here. The beach is private and very relaxed. It was never a problem to get a sun lounger. Possible cons would be that the beach is black sand instead of white sand but we didn't mind that, especially since the beach was clean and peaceful. There were no issues with noise level. Although we didn't go into the village of Skala Erresos we heard very good things and it's only about a 10 min walk so accessible, even though Aeolian village feels like it's outside of the main tourist area. Massage prices were reasonable (didn't try ourselves) and we were happy with the value for our all-inclusive experience. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday around this time of year.
Thanks
Amria
Absolutely perfect. Very quiet and peaceful around the pool and the beach. Food was lovely with different themes every night at the restaurant. Lots of classes too which broke up the day nicely. Mike, Florence, Olympia, Fotis, and both Giorgos' were all lovely, particularly at the pool bar which served lots of great food too around lunchtime. Would love to come back again in the next year or two!
Our visit to Aeolian Village Beach resort took place in May 2026 partly coverng the UK May school holidays.
The transfer from / to Mytilene Airport is some 55 miles but can take 2 to 3 hours as the Aeolian is one of the furthest resorts from the airport with journey being over a winding and mountainous route.
We visited on a half board basis and our personal experiences of the Aeolian Village Beach Resort were quite positive.
The staff in all the departments we experienced gave excellent, friendly yet professional service and were always ready to help with any issues or questions.
The food provided in the main restaurant and pool side bar was of a very high standard with a wide range of available options.for all the meals. There was choice for all tastes and I would challenge anyone who said otherwise.
The grounds were well maintained. Visually pleasing and relaxing.
Our room, with ensuite bathroom (shower over bath) had a large comfortable bed and was cleaned daily. There was plenty of storage space with a fridge, a large complimentary bottle of water and tea and coffee facilities. We had a balcony with views over the countryside and sea which we found very relaxing.
The room, whilst clean is ready for refurbishment as there were issues with leaks from the shower/bath, screen handle falling off, and the shower head was set so high it hit the ceiling when you tried to reposition it so as to direct the water better. .
For the first few days there was no television service and a worse than patchy WiFi service. 2.4gb if you were lucky.
These issues were mentioned to the staff and Jet2 representative and were amicably resolved.
The hotel corridors are tiled as is usual in these climates. Unfortunately, on quite a few late night occasions, our sleep was disturbed by noisy and inconsiderate people.
To reach the beach you have to leave the resort, cross a track and across wooden boardwalks.
The hotel is, as I understand things, privately owned with an emphasis but not exclusivity on the Mark Warner Sport and Leisure activities.
Our stay was booked through Jet2 Holidays and was primarily to visit family who live on the island therefore we did not use the Mark Warner activities nor interact with their staff. I was advised by our Jet2 rep that we could purchase individual activities if we wished to fo so.
The activities and facilities looked very reasonable and there were children's clubs for a wide age range. The children appeared to be enjoying their activities.
The hotel is situated on the outskirts of and some 15 -20 minutes walk by beach or quiet road from the beachside village resort of Skala Eresus.
The beach is of the dark grey volcanic type and surrounding areas on this west side of the island being mainly scrub grassland with a rural economy reliant on olive oil production and sheep rearing.
As stated, the walk to the village is either by the beach, passing through a naturist's beach or via a rural road. The road passes over a river where many turtles and fish can be seen. It also passes a Cocktail Bar which was only open one night during our stay. Apparently the bar is very popular with festival goers. Unfortunately this route also passes by an unofficial tent encampment which is not the cleanest of places.
The village itself, sits on the sea front where there about a dozen bar - restaurants. All the staff sermed very friendly with no pressure selling The ones we tried offered good value for money. The charity quiz night at the Flamingo bar is well worth a visit. There is one very small children's arcade and a few shops catering to tourists and locals. There is also a Museum in the village.
This area is popular with the LBGTQ community with a festival taking place during our visit. There is also a very popular Women's Festival which takes in September each year.
We felt very safe swimming in the shallow clear waters. With our 10 year grandaughter and friends being in their element.
The whole area felt to be a very safe and relaxing place to visit.
Everything is fine 🙂
I really do not understand why we're they producing bathtub very small , because I organized the biggest room , but the wc and tube is completely disappointed .
Location & First Impressions
This was our first visit to Lesvos, and from the moment we landed it felt completely different to many of the more commercial Greek destinations. The airport is small and relaxed – when we arrived, ours was the only plane there.
We booked through Jet2 and the transfer to the hotel took around two hours. Halfway through, we switched from the main coach to a shared minibus with another family. Although the distance isn't huge, the second half of the journey winds through mountain roads with tight switchback bends and speed limits of around 40mph, so the transfer takes longer than you might expect.
Lesvos feels wonderfully traditional and, importantly, not yet spoiled by mass tourism. On arrival at Aeolian Village, I was initially a little underwhelmed by how remote it felt and the apparent lack of anything nearby. However, that quickly became one of the hotel's greatest strengths. It offers a genuine escape from everyday life and allows you to completely switch off.
The Room & Hotel
Our room consisted of a double bed and single bed with a rear-facing balcony. The view wasn't the prettiest, but it did overlook the mountains, which was peaceful and relaxing.
The room was cleaned every day and the entire hotel was spotlessly maintained throughout our stay. One thing that stood out was how amazing the hotel smelled everywhere – a small detail, but one that really added to the overall experience.
Food & Dining
We stayed on a half-board basis and, quite simply, the food was outstanding.
I've never experienced hotel food quite like it before. The quality, freshness and cooking of every dish is a real credit to the kitchen team. The meat dishes were consistently excellent and the profiteroles were absolutely incredible.
Breakfast was also very good. The bacon and sausage were the standard type often found abroad, so I tended to skip those and instead enjoyed the freshly made omelettes, Greek yoghurt with honey and nuts, and the fresh bread with cherry jam – a new favourite of mine.
The pool bar also serves food, and it's surprisingly good. The chicken nuggets were some of the best I've had, and portions are generous – around nine nuggets or eight fish fingers in a standard serving.
Food prices were reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. The drinks, however, were a little disappointing. Because there isn't much nearby, you're effectively a captive audience. There is a Happy Hour at the pool bar and a "Thirsty Thirty" half-price promotion at the beach bar, but I wasn't particularly impressed by the cocktails. My mojito, for example, tasted mostly of lime juice with a single shot of spirit and no brown sugar, despite normally costing around €10.
Pool, Beach & Kids Club
The beach is lovely and the sea is crystal clear. One of our favourite moments was simply standing still in the water and watching shoals of fish gather around our feet.
The kids' club was okay, although very quiet during our stay, which meant there was no mini disco. One thing worth noting is that the hotel is heavily used by Mark Warner guests. Mark Warner operates its own activities and kids' club that Jet2 customers cannot access.
At times this felt a little disappointing. It wasn't great walking past the Mark Warner kids' club with over ten children happily playing outside, only to take our daughter to the hotel's own kids' club around the corner where there might only be one or two children present. The hotel club itself is also housed in a fairly small, dark room, which initially made us reluctant to leave her there.
That said, full credit must go to the staff running it. They were fantastic with our daughter and always found something fun and engaging for the children to do.
The Local Area
The nearby town is absolutely magical if you're looking for somewhere authentic rather than touristy. It has a relaxed atmosphere and feels like a genuine Greek community rather than a resort town.
A special mention goes to the owners of Flamingoes, who were incredibly friendly and served great food and drinks.
The town can be reached via a pleasant 15-minute walk along the road past Turtle Bridge.
One thing to be aware of is that there are nudist beaches located to both the left and right of the main beach area. They are far enough away that children won't generally see anything from the hotel beach itself, but it's worth noting if you're considering walking into town along the shoreline with younger children.
Lesvos Queer Festival
The annual Queer Festival was taking place during our stay. It was great to see such a diverse range of people visiting the area and contributing to the welcoming atmosphere.
Wildlife & Exploring
Nature lovers will really enjoy this part of Lesvos. We saw plenty of wildlife during our stay, including flamingos on the marshes during our transfer to the hotel.
The sea life around the beach is fascinating, and the surrounding mountains add to the feeling that you're somewhere genuinely special.
The reception staff were always friendly and helpful whenever we needed assistance.
Final Thoughts
What initially felt like a remote location turned out to be exactly what made this holiday so memorable. Aeolian Village Beach Resort offers a chance to completely relax, unwind and forget about the outside world for a while.
The outstanding food, beautiful natural surroundings, authentic local town and peaceful atmosphere make this feel like a hidden gem. It isn't perfect – the drinks could be better, and the split between Mark Warner and non-Mark Warner guests can occasionally feel frustrating – but these are minor criticisms in what was otherwise a wonderful holiday.
We left feeling that we'd only scratched the surface of what Lesvos has to offer and will definitely return, next time with a hire car to explore more of the island.
If you're looking for authentic Greece rather than a heavily developed tourist destination, this could be exactly the place you're looking for.
Thank you Jet2 - awesome Holiday!
Υπέροχο πρωινό!
Just had a week at this hotel which was booked with jet 2. The week cost just over 2 grand for 3 of us all inclusive so felt like a bargain.
The hotel is located in skala errosou which is about 2 hours away from the airport. However the drive was pleasant and the roads good.
The hotel is set in a rural setting just off the beach about 1km from skala erossou. It is not plush but it is not unpleasant and is very clean. Staff are pleasant and helpfull. There are nice gardens and a large oblong pool which is 22m long and has lanes so you can have a good swim. We had a room for 3 which was clean and well appointed. AC was good. Food is a breakfast buffet which has a decent choice. The food was ok. Lunch is served at a beach bar. There was plenty of choice, it was good quality, prepared to order and the portions big. Food on an evening was buffet only. Again there was plenty of choice and the food was fresh and tasty. There are 2 bars one being on the beach. The all inclusive drinks were ok. Local beer but unbranded spirits. You could not get a zero beer or branded drinks such as aperol spritz on all inclusive. They were however available to but quite expensive. There is a spa which i did not use but looked reasonably priced. There is a small gym with very limited equipment some of which was old and broken. There are watersports and bike hire at extra cost. These were included for mark warner cutomers but not jet 2. Bike hire was dear at 35 euro for half a day. There were cheaper options in skala erossou at 35 euro a week.. The beach is very nice and quiet. It is sand as opposed to pebble. The nearest village is 1km away on an easy flat but cobbled road. Felt safe at night. Village had lots of nice seafront restaurants and bars. Local food was cheap. Village very popular with LGBT+ women. Atmosphere was very relaxed and quiet. There are no irish bars or similar.... Scenery is quite stunning with plenty of marked out walking tracks. If you want a quiet holiday in a nice seafront location this place is hard to beat for the money..
