Hotel Don Ernesto By La Chimba

Our initial reaction to what was cited on the site was exciting. We first went to use the pool and it was full of people with a day pass. We also asked to use the campfire and were told it wasn’t in use. The accommodations were comfortable but we had a horrible issue with the toilet and had to have them come fix it. The wait to have them fix it was long and the stench was unbearable. We also were expecting gourmet meals at the restaurant and encountered mediocre options. When we ordered, the salmon was undercooked, the salad was coleslaw, and our drinks were undrinkable. As well as a charge of $22 if you order from Uber Eats.

1. The pictures of the ROOMS are DECEPTIVE.
- No A/c or Fans. The rooms use a lattice type of roof that allows air to flow. this means the ambient temperatures and humidity is what you get.
- BUGS. the way the rooms are and the roof is designed lets bug come and go throughout the day and night. so you will wake up with creepy crawlers around and on you. sleeping here is similar to cowboy camping.
- SOUND again the way these rooms/huts are designed you can hear other people staying there. they had a huge group getting drunk and making all sorts of noise. So this may not be a place to Relax
- NO INTERIOR WALLS, the bathroom and bedroom are all together. If you go with someone else, you will not have much privacy.
- It's not a Hotel. it's a series of small (single room) houses and very limited staff. typically 1 person.

2. Do not save food. you will have no where to store it. the rooms do not have a fridge to keep cool drinks or store left overs.

3. Have mountain driving experience. If you rent your own car, please be aware this location sits on a mountain/hill side that has a very very steep road to get to. driving here at night would be a reckless choice if you aren't familiar with the area and Very limited parking. you will likely need to park at an Angle and be sure to engage the emergency break.

4. Good trekking shoes and no ankle injuries. getting to the pool you see in the pictures is close to the main desk but the path is large buried rocks that are usually wet and somewhat sharp. you can feel them through shoes. all the walk ways are very raw and if you have knee or Ankle injuries this is not the stay for you.

5. RESTAURANT is somewhat limited in food options, availability and higher priced than local "Sodas" and Similar offerings.

6. the POOL is not always open or available. its closed in the evenings.

7. if you are still interested, do not book. visit the location first as ALL exchanges are Final. no refunds AT ALL.

The Pool is the greatest asset they have. The room I had was nice it’s old style lots of stuff in the room and a bit dark , could use some upgrading of the Building (walls, doors, windows).

Early in the morning, around 7 am, on a Saturday, we got wake up with the sound of a leaves blower. Not nice for sure.

From our room we could hear the restaurant’s bathroom right beneath us and people with diarrhea. We could hear everything that was said downstairs in the corridor and the restaurant and it disrupted our sleep. Even so, we couldn’t sleep much because the mattress was too soft and it hurt our backs.
Dinner was terrible, cooked with reused oil which gave us indigestion.
During breakfast we got a fruit plate with rotten fruit which they then exchanged for a new plate and the eggs were cooked in the same old oil, again giving us indigestion.
After voicing our experience just to let them know what it was like they the offered to reimburse us. We did not ask for a reimbursement but would have appreciated it. Even so, they then proceeded not to reimburse us and are now ignoring my texts.

El tipo de persianas dejaban rendijas en la ventana entonces no se sentía seguro, fue horrible bañarme y pensar que Talvez alguien podía estar viéndome por esas rendijas deberían cambiar el tipo de cortinas

Bilder auf der Webseite zeigen eine schickere Unterkunft. Der Geruch des Reinigungsmittels in dem Zimmer war sehr unangenehm.

Ruido , la comida , poca flexibilidad
