If you are planning a trip to Panama City, look no further than this stunning property in the heart of the historic Old City. From the moment we stepped into the breathtaking lobby, we knew we were in for an exceptional experience, but the hospitality truly blew us away.
This hotel masterfully blends old-world charm with modern luxury. We left feeling completely pampered, recharged, and already planning our return trip. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a high-end, memorable getaway! Special shout outs to: Saul, Carlos, Orlando B, Markus, Teo, Shaun, Yveth, Alex, Boris, and the woman that be working her butt off managing the hotel and the sister welcoming people.
One thing to consider before arriving… bring a sweatshirt or scarf. The AC is intense. But that’s a small complaint compared to our incredible experience.
I had an incredible five-night stay at the Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo, made truly unforgettable by the extraordinary butler team — Angelique, Carlos, Deslher, and Orlando. From the moment I arrived, their attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and genuine warmth set the tone for the entire trip.
I was celebrating my birthday, and this team went above and beyond to make it feel special — anticipating my needs before I even had to ask, responding promptly to every request, and bringing a level of care and professionalism that truly embodies hospitality excellence. Whether it was a small detail or a bigger ask, they handled everything with grace and genuine enthusiasm.
Angelique, Carlos, Deslher, and Orlando — thank you for making this such a memorable birthday trip. Your dedication to your guests doesn't go unnoticed, and it's the reason I'll be back to Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo again. 🙏🏾
I had never been to Panama and so I was excited for a long layover in Panama from Colombia. I loved loved loved this hotel, customer service, food, rooftop and the rooms with the balcony. We spent an entire Saturday at the pool with Kevin (our server) and it was everything. The drinks Ana food were so good! I will be coming back again to explore Casca Viejo and I definitely plan on staying again at the Sofitel!!

O quarto reservado para três pessoas, mas a cama era King. O hotel disponibilizou a cama extra (o conforto dessa cama extra é relativamente ruim).
We absolutely loved the experience. From the room upgrade, to the excellent food & service, everything was magnificent. Carlos was exceptionally caring & friendly and made sure our experience was memorable. Carlos gifted my daughter a stuffed animal (sloth) at the end which was the cherry on top. She named him “Carlos”. :) We will definitely be coming back.
Sofitel Legend in Casco Viejo Panama City was a delight.
It is centrally located, the hotel is beautiful, well taken care of, classy and elegant.
Rooms are large and the amenities are abundant . What you pay for is worth every dollar.
The place is spotless, smells divine and the views are spectacular.
The service is exceptional. There is always someone ready to take care of your needs or wants.
The bars have excellent drinks as well as food to choose from.
Our breakfast was always good. We had great servers . Someone to mention is Marying Lopez. Always with a sincere and welcome smile, she remembered our favorite drinks and our usual breakfast.
Definitely we will be back.
We loved Panama City and Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo.
Lovely hotel right in the heart of Casco Viejo. We stayed in a one-bedroom prestige suite. It worked well for our family (parents and 18-year-old daughter) with the pullout couch and hallway half bath. The shower was AMAZING. The water pressure was top-notch, and the facilities were very clean. I am super picky, but I was pleased with the cleanliness. Our spa services were good. We only ate at the pool bar, but the food was delicious. The speakeasy was a vibe; we went there twice after dinner. We never made it to the rooftop bar as there was a fire in the area and it was too smoky the day we had time to visit. My daughter found the hotel to be perfect for her instagram photos as well. My only issue was on my birthday. My husband made them aware of the event the first day we checked in, confirmed it with them the day of, and right before we left for dinner, but they did not do anything to acknowledge the event that day. I travel every year for my birthday, and even the 3-4 star places manage a small gesture to acknowledge the day. Whether at the pool when we ordered lunch (a pastry with a candle), the spa (an add-on service, sample products, or just saying happy birthday), or in the room for turn-down service (towels folded up as little animals with happy birthday spelled out in flowers or the same fruit/champagne set up they gave us when we arrived) - there was ample opportunity for a small gesture. My husband spoke to the manager, and they did offer us a free dinner the next day, but we turned them down. I had our dinner reservations planned out for the trip, and honestly, it wasn't about getting something for free. The moment had passed. Having said that, I would stay here again. I just wouldn't celebrate a milestone here.
Le service est exceptionnel! Pour avoir fait de nombreux établissements haut de gamme dans le monde, nous pouvons sans doute dire qu’il s’agit d’un sans faute. Vous êtes extrêmement bien accueilli, tout est pensé pour le confort et le personnel est chaleureux. L’hôtel est magnifique, bien placé, et les chambres sont confortables! Nous reviendrons!
