Lo staff, non parla altro che inglese, per un hotel a 5* non è accettabile. Al Check in ho chiesto di parlare lentamente ma non sono stato preso in considerazione. Ho dovuto ripetere la mia richiesta 2 volte. Lo staff non è gentile! Dopo essere stato in ben 10 hotel a 5* in Australia nell’ultimo mese è la prima volta che mi capita una esperienza pessima come questa. Inoltre l’hotel non offre acqua liscia in bottiglia gratuita! Scandaloso…. Il prezzo dell’acqua è di 12 dollari australiani. Vergognoso

Loved everything. Officially my favourite hotel. Have stayed a few times now. The corner suite is incredible. Staff easily accommodated our request to stay 3 more nights. Accessible room my friend stayed in was awesome as well.

QT Newcastle was in a great spot — close to cafes, restaurants, and just a short walk to the foreshore. It made it really easy to grab food, coffee, or head down to the water without needing to drive.
The compliments for QT Newcastle end with its location. Yes, it was great being close to cafes, restaurants and the foreshore, but the staff completely ruined the experience.
We arrived by car and did the normal thing — asked at reception if there was any parking available. Instead of clear directions, we were told to park in the Woolworths car park. When we got there, there were no spaces at all. We then had to drive around the block, already frustrated, before contacting the hotel again.
The second time, the staff gave us vague and confusing directions to alternative parking that turned out to be wrong. There was no real effort to help or make sure we understood where to go. What should have been a simple arrival turned into almost two hours of driving around and trying to sort out parking ourselves.
By the time we finally managed to park and walk back to the hotel, we were tired and annoyed. When we got to reception, the staff were chatting among themselves and treated us like an afterthought. There was no proper welcome, no apology for the parking mess, and no clear directions about where to go next, how to find the elevator or get to our room.
For a hotel that markets itself as high‑end and design‑focused, the service felt unprofessional and careless. The location is great, but the way the staff handled basic things like parking and check‑in means we will not be staying here again and would not recommend it to others.
Love the QT quirkiness, a fabulous location (except for parking), beautiful rooms
