Not the best and not the worst.
Pros:

Sympathetic conversation of a heritage building.

Cons:

Bar closes at 9.30pm and there is nowhere to sit, other than your room. The room was quite small, so just a bed and a small space around the edge.
There appeared to be only one member of staff on duty and they were rushing around covering reception, the bar and waiting table.

Recommended stay!
Pros:

Modern facilities within a heritage setting. Most comfortable beds and room of our NZ trip. Heated floor in bathroom. Easy parking.

Cons:

Bar and restaurant don't open between 10.30am and 4pm.

A blast from the past
Pros:

A great boutique hotel, updated tastefully from its time as an airforce Officers Mess and very close to the RNZAF Museum (5 minute walk). The menu was extensive and the dishes were excellent and well presented. We would definitely stay again if in Christchurch.
