Lagoona Sunset

Our stay at Lagoona Sunset was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we booked until the day we checked out, the staff went above and beyond to make our experience as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Since we had planned a private island tour on our check-in day, we requested the hotel in advance to collect our luggage from another property. They handled everything seamlessly before we even arrived, allowing us to enjoy our excursion without worrying about our belongings.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a genuinely warm welcome by the front desk representative. She was exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive, completing the check-in process efficiently while taking the time to explain all the hotel facilities before escorting us to our room.

The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a lovely balcony offering a pleasant view. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring modern fixtures and excellent cleanliness.

During the night, a severe storm caused rainwater to seep through the balcony glass partition. What truly stood out was the hotel's prompt response. The staff quickly came to our room to ensure everything was alright and thoughtfully provided beach towels to minimize the water ingress until the weather improved. Their concern and willingness to help reflected their genuine commitment to guest comfort.

Breakfast was enjoyable, offering a decent spread with a good variety of options to start the day.

At check-out, we once again requested assistance in transferring our luggage to another hotel, and just like before, the staff happily accommodated our request without hesitation.

Overall, our experience at Lagoona Sunset exceeded our expectations. The outstanding hospitality, attentive service, comfortable accommodation, and excellent value for money made our stay truly memorable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free stay.

We stayed at Lagoona Sunset in late June 2026 and had a very pleasant experience overall.
The experience started on a great note. A hotel representative was already waiting for us at the Maafushi jetty when we arrived, helped us with our luggage, and walked us to the hotel, which is only a few minutes away on foot. At check-in, we were warmly welcomed by Mal, who was exceptionally courteous, professional, and customer-focused. She completed the check-in process quickly and took the time to explain everything we needed to know, including breakfast timings, hotel facilities, and useful information about the island. She also recommended Room 304 on the third floor, mentioning that it had the best view. She was absolutely right! She also made sure to let us know beforehand that the hotel does not have a lift and asked if we were comfortable using the stairs, which I appreciated because it set the right expectations from the start.

The room itself was spacious and comfy. Good view, and having two balconies was a bonus. One balcony even had a drying rack, which was useful after returning from the beach or water activities with wet clothes. The room was cleaned every day, complimentary drinking water was replenished, and the toiletries provided were of very good quality.

Another nice touch was that the hotel provides complimentary beach towels that guests can borrow every day, as well as free snorkeling gear for anyone wanting to explore the waters around Maafushi. They also organize excursions and tours, although we didn't make use of them during our stay.

El personal increíblemente encantador, un trato súper cercano, nos ayudaron en todo. La habitación estaba genial, todo super limpio, y de ubicación estupendo, al final es una isla chiquitita, se llega andando sin ningún problema a todas partes.

Great service! The staff booked my boat tickets ahead of time and picked me up at the pier. They respond super fast to messages. Room is large. It’s located in a quieter area, but the island is so small that location doesn't really matter.

Clean an reasonable sized rooms. Close to speedboat and ferry dock. Harbour / ocean views.
