Weekend away
Pros:

The room was fantastic, on checking in the staff member on reception was able to recognise one of the party had mobility issues and instantly changed the room, excellent customer service. The staff member on reception was Paige she was fantastic couldn't do enough for us. Also another staff member who deserves a special mention was Scott again couldn't do enough for us.

Cons:

We had nothing we didn't like

Nice proportioned room. Nice bar and staff, decent breakfast

Cons:

I didn’t like the green light mounted on the ceiling that was permanently on. That impacted our sleep quite a lot

What a lovely little hotel and we will definitely be back
Pros:

The hotel is lovely and the location is excellent. Staff were very nice. We ate in the hotel one night and were very happy with the food and service we received. Fresh towels every day was great.

Cons:

I think if we had the opportunity to get snacks later in the evening ie a toastie etc this would have been good but not a deal breaker

Pros:

The room was as I had experienced on a previous stay. It was comfortable and clean.

Cons:

Having stayed here previously I found the dinning and breakfast facilities very disappointing. The service at dinner was slow and our sharing plates arrived at different time through the meal. Breakfast was even more disappointing, a few hams and cheeses, with a small selection of pastries and bread.

Pleasant staff, friendly, food excellent, bed low but exceptionally comfy. Central, easy parking, good access to everything. Great charity shops to browse in, lots of coffee shops and good eating places. Fish and chips excellent as is icecream shops. One sells a purple sorbet sonething dragon , highly recommed. Recreation centre opposite due to open in october, great place for evening walks.

Cons:

No hot water one night

Rooms above a Bar rather than a boutique hotel
Pros:

Great location on the sea front. Quirky decor. Good size mugs in the room, lovely addition of a coffee Machine with plenty of pods. Really nice pint would recommend the Riva Premium and nice touch of a 10% discount on drinks for guests. The Lady who booked us in was really hospitable warm and welcoming and the best member of staff the others need to take note from her.

Cons:

Tiny room not as advertised as 16 sqm, Disappointing that the restaurant was closed due to leak so we had to eat out. Our hotel room door didn’t close properly which felt unsafe and rattle when other guests walked past, We could hear every noise from neighbouring room. The kettle flex didn’t reach the plug from the table which was quite dangerous with how small the room was.
In the morning there was no Hot water, No explanation or apology given.
The staff member at breakfast spent the whole time talking on mobile phone, with the phone cradled into her neck while serving guests. Breakfast is limited continental few meats and cheeses, cereal and pastries (not fresh) only one 2 slice toaster available. At check out the staff member was still on her phone!!

great find in Helensburgh right on the promenade with lovely staff!
Pros:

Lovely staff, very helpful, cannot say enough how lovely/helpful all staff were they really make the hotel! Upgraded to a family room which was a nice surprise and even a record player with records in room, elegant yet quirky room, clean (apart from previous guest hiding fruit in drawer which had gone bad but not hotels fault)

Cons:

the heat!! windows were a bit open (you cant make them wider) and one fan for such a large room..the fan's safety cover wouldn't stay on which isnt great if children, and we missed the breakfast cos last time to have is 9:30 and we were on a break so a bit later to get up and have would have been a nice option. The cold tap was odd in bathroom, it mostly came out hot which was difficult when trying to brush teeth or fill dogs water bowl but to be fair if you keep trying it eventyually will come out cold.

Disappointed
Pros:

Room and breakfast were nice

Cons:

The shower did not work. We had been walking in the highlands and got a nice hotel room thinking we would really enjoy getting cleaned up and relaxing. The staff were responsive and apologetic but offered no recourse or compensation. The room was almost 300£ so having no operational shower was really unacceptable.
