Struttura piuttosto nuova in zona molto centrale della città. Ottimo ristorante giapponese. Camere ampie e confortevoli.
Mobilio un po’ datato. Alcune parti sono da rimettere a nuovo. Infissi che lasciano a desiderare. Alla reception ci sono alcuni operatori “furbetti”.

Automatically fire alarm set to early morning on, but it’s not a fall; it's a mistake. Staff are not responding to it clearly ridiculous feeling.

海沿いのロケーションがまず心地よく、部屋から見えるオーシャンビューが最高でした。
スタッフのホスピタリティも良く、カフェもあるので気軽に休むことが出来ました。

My wife and I spend 7 nights at the Granbell. We found it to be a lovely, modern hotel with polite and helpful staff throughout the complex.
Breakfast each day was excellent with a choice of western and eastern items. We also enjoyed the lunch and dinner buffet on a couple of occasions.
Very good coffee in the lobby, excellent rooftop pool and bar.
Walking distance to shops and Galle Face Green. (Though I don’t consider Colombo a pleasant city to walk in).
The only issue we found was some low level noise from the trains that operated across the road, but the services reduced at night so the noise didn’t bother us.

Отличный отель. Расположение, атмосфера, номера, чистота, мелочи вроде тапочек, халатов, геля для душа и прочего. Удобная кровать, оборудование санузла, площадь номера- очень хорошо.
Мы прибыли в 13 часов, чекин с 14. Нам сказали, что номера заказанной категории ещё нет, нужно подождать, как только будет номер готов они заселят. Мы 40 минут прождали, ещё раз подошли и ещё минут через 10 нас заселили. Я абсолютно уверена, что номера были, видимо это принципиальная политика отеля, либо нежелание персонала сделать для клиента чуть больше, чем должен.
Также отмечу, что бассейн на крыше без подогрева и он прям холодный настолько, что быстро замерзаешь.
Th sea view from the room was surreal.
The check-in process was chaotic and we felt it took unnecessarily long. Staff didn't acknowledge us right away and other guests pushed in front of us. We didn't like that we couldn't charge anything (room service/ breakfast etc) to the room and pay for it all at check-out. We had to pay for it all as we received the service. We paid in cash and staff told us they would bring us the change but never returned with it. Asked room service for an iron which took 2 hours to arrive (we had to request it 3 times). Did not feel as though this was 4 star service.

The hotel is at a very good location close to everything touristy, however at the check in desk k felt there is a bias in treating guests a bit differently depending on their nationality, I would appreciate if that’s something the staff could work on, the hotel however has very good facilities and the swimming pool and jacuzzi were just great as well. The room however doesn’t have any closet space.

How can a hotel not have its room available at 3.45 PM when it’s standard check in time is 2 PM ?? Never happens in any part of the world. I stayed in 6 hotels in Sri Lanka (can verify it) with 5 being great and grandbell Colombo being a pathetic one. I reached the hotel with my 2 year old baby and elderly parents after a long flight and the room was not even available after 2 hours after a standard check in. How pathetic !!!
Secondly, the service is damn slow and even after repeated calls to room service nobody arrives at for anything.
Thirdly, their staff including the reception and service guys are extremely rude and have no sense on hospitality. If you ask for anything they will either delay it or forget it.
On every order to the room or restaurant they want you to pay upfront and can’t bill it to the room which is a normal practice in any 4/5 ⭐️ property but these guys would want you to pay upfront even if you’re in the pool or handling your baby in the room and can’t pay them upfront. Disgusting experience it was.
Dear grandbell hotel
- no matter how awesome pool you have pls understand hotels run with hospitality and not with views. Learn this and don’t give a horrible experience to tourists specially when you’re hosting foreigners. Take lessons on hospitality and then run your hotel. All my other 5 hotels were either great or above standards but you surely have a long way to go.
