Einzigartiges Hotel in bester Lage. Grossartiges Design, wunderbare Zimmer, bester und sehr zuvorkommender Service. Sehr ruhiges Quartier, trotzdem zentral gelegen. Unbedingt empfehlenswert!

Probably the best hotel experience I've had in Japan so far! The hotel is beautifully designed and the staff delivered kind and warm hospitality throughout our stay. When we came back from a run along the Kamo river, they would even offer us cold bottles of water or cold towels. The room is stylish and we truly had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the river view from our hotel room, such a beautiful way to experience Kyoto.

I adored this hotel and experience. The rooms were delightful, the beds very comfortable, the service impeccable. The roof top for drinks and snacks was a huge bonus. I loved how quiet and serene the neighborhood was yet so close to walk to many things. The staff here, especially Shin and Eri were over the top accommodating.

We had a wonderful stay, staff was excellent, breakfast was a good start to the day, rooftop was a lovely space to hang out and dine in, room was very comfortable for a family of four. Location was walkable and convenient for us.

Genji Kyoto is wonderful! Our river view room with a private deck was gorgeous, the included breakfast was delicious, the staff were all so helpful and the location worked for us. We really loved that it was away from the hectic craziness and it was easy to still get around by walking, biking (bikes for use at the hotel) and via taxi for far away spots. I am so glad we stayed here instead of at the larger more "central" michelin property I had considered. This unique boutique hotel offered incredible beauty and lovely touches throughout. If you stay, consider taking the bikes along the river path. We rode to the Kyoto National Garden and it was a nice changeup from the typical tourist spots.

Possibly the loveliest, most relaxing hotel l have ever stayed in. This is a 19 room hotel on the riverside in a quiet part of central Kyoto. Without doubt the stars are 1: the staff - They were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble, everything done with a smile and courtesy, 2: the roof garden terrace, which overlooks eastern Kyoto enabling you to enjoy half of the city whilst you have breakfast, dinner or just drinks. All beautifully served and presented by the staff at, wait for it, not outrageous prices.
We were on the 3rd floor and had a really great room, with lots of luxury and space.

The location is excellent - there are bars, beer places, restaurants galore within a short walk and it's about a 15-20 minute walk to the JR station.

Un boutique hôtel superbe dans un petit quartier paisible et bucolique au bord de la rivière Kamo, à une dizaine de minutes à pied des rues animées.
Les ruelles autour de l’hôtel valent le détour.
La chambre est spacieuse et décorée avec goût, les amateurs de design seront conquis.
Le personnel est au petit soin, d’une gentillesse remarquable.
Le rooftop offre une très belle vue sur Kyoto et la rivière.
Des vélos sont à disposition, je vous le recommande +++, découvrir Kyoto à vélo est agréable et très pratique !!!
Une buanderie est à disposition, pour ceux qui restent plusieurs semaines au Japon c’est fort pratique !

Le personnel, la localisation, la vue, le style

Un petit bonbon d’hôtel caché dans le Vieux Kyoto.
Il est tout petit, il est caché, il est dur d’accès (il y avait des travaux sur la route) mais une fois qu’on y est quel bonheur!!
Dès l’arrivée, on a l’impression de rentrer à la maison tellement l’accueil est gentil.
L’hôtel est magnifique, très belle décoration, ambiance chaleureuse et élégante… et notre chambre était waouh ! !
Petit jardin japonais sur la terrasse, chambre spacieuse, éclairages doux et une salle de bain de rêve, organique.
La seule chose que j’aurais pu reprocher (mais c’est moi et mes habitudes de voyageuse) c’est qu’il n’y a pas de buffet mais un petit déjeuner excellent, frais, raffiné, préparé à la minute et servi à table : vous vous régalerez. De toute façon ils ont tout ce que vous voulez, ils peuvent tout vous préparer.
