La decoration, le calme et l’accueil
Tout était comme j’imaginais Bali.
Magnifique, personnes tres sympathiques, tres confortable
Rien tout etait magnifique
I loved everything about the property, especially the private villa, the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, and the spotless spa. The breakfast was incredible, with delicious local fruits and amazing coffee, and the spa treatments were excellent.
Most of all, I loved the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, especially the front desk team. Their genuine care and kindness made our stay truly special and is something I will always remember. It really captured what I love about Bali — the warmth, humility, and hospitality of the Balinese people.
The only thing I would say is the location. It’s a little farther from central Ubud than I would have preferred, so it’s not as convenient if you want to be right in the middle of everything. That said, the property provides transportation to central Ubud, which makes it much easier and definitely helps. For me, it was a small inconvenience compared with how amazing the property, spa, and staff were.

Bed was a little hard. That’s my only criticism
After traveling the world for over a quarter of a century, I don’t easily get blown away. I love staying in high-end, posh hotels, but Arya Arkananda Resort and Spa completely reset my standards. Officially, this property holds a 4-star rating. In reality? It is easily a 5-star PLUS experience. During my eight-day stay, I actively tried to find minor flaws—a tiny detail missed, a slip in service, anything. It’s simply impossible. The place is total perfection.
The Location & Vibe
Situated in the middle of the iconic Sayan rice fields, the setting is pure magic. Watching the sunrise over the lush greenery every morning is a core memory in the making. It’s not just a hotel; it’s a complete atmospheric experience that restores your peace the second you step foot on the grounds.
Spotless Cleanliness
The housekeeping standards are an absolute 10 out of 10. Fresh bed changes every two days, not a single speck of dust anywhere, and a level of attention to detail that puts multi-thousand-dollar resorts to shame. Spotless from edge to edge.
Food & Unexpected Perks
Breakfast is incredible—colorful, delicious, fresh, and the absolute best way to start the day. But what really shocked me was the flexibility. You can enjoy your meal or drinks in the restaurant, right by the pool, or served straight to your room with zero extra charge. That level of freedom and service without hidden costs is exceptionally rare.
World-Class Spa
I’ve tried spas all over the world, but the Balinese spa experience here is next-level. The therapists are so skilled and professional that I drifted off into complete relaxation almost immediately. You leave feeling fully recharged.
The Heart of the Resort: The People
What makes Area Arkananda truly unbeatable is the staff. It feels like they can literally read your mind—before you even realize you need something, they are already there with a smile, ready to help.

The location is quite remote, and getting there can be challenging due to the narrow and difficult access road. The staff are friendly and well-intentioned, but unfortunately seem poorly trained. Many basic processes simply don’t work properly - we even had considerable trouble getting a simple invoice for our stay.
Cleanliness could also be improved. Our private pool was disappointing, with a view directly onto a wall that made the whole area feel rather enclosed and uninviting. We ordered room service and cocktails once, and both were very poor. We also had two massages: one was fine, while the other was quite bad.
Overall, we don’t think the hotel offers good value for money. We stayed at a less expensive hotel afterwards that was significantly better organized and professionally run.
The overall impression is of a place run by genuinely nice people who unfortunately lack some of the basic training and processes needed to operate a hotel at this level.

車でダイレクトにホテルにアクセスできないのでピックアップポイントからはバギーか、歩く必要がある。夜道はかなり暗いので足元に気をつけないといけない。

da dove iniziare? forse dallo staff super accogliente o dalla piscina immersa nel verde! io e mio marito siamo arrivati nel cuore della notte e con gentilezza siamo stati accolti e accompagnati dal pick up point all’hotel con una fantastica golf car di cui il cliente può sempre usufruire.
Passando alla stanza, che dire? super pulita, enorme (con terrazzino) e dal design tipicamente balinese. Abbiamo inoltre usufruito del servizio laundry, davvero velocissimo ed economico.
L’unico “problema” l’abbiamo riscontrato al momento della colazione dato che propongono a tutti gli effetti un menu da pranzo/cena con cibo esclusivamente asiatico. tuttavia, cenando lì, non possiamo negare che la qualità è alta.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans une suite, un peu bruyante car située à proximité du restaurant, puis deux nuits au calme dans une villa. Les villas sont harmonieusement disposées autour d’un jardin luxuriant agrémenté d’une très belle piscine centrale. Elles sont décorées avec beaucoup de goût et parfaitement équipées. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la salle de bains, ouverte, spacieuse et agréable.
Le restaurant propose des plats savoureux. Le personnel s’est montré très attentif, disponible et serviable tout au long de notre séjour.
L’hôtel est assez éloigné de la ville pour s’y rendre à pied. Un service de navettes est proposé, mais leur fréquence reste un peu limitée. Nous aurions apprécié un petit-déjeuner sous forme de buffet, offrant davantage de choix et de flexibilité.
